Brian: You have appeared in many
different comedy and horror productions. Do you
prefer to make folks laugh or cringe in terror?
Or are you an Almond Joy type of gal and enjoy a
little of both?
Christa: I
actually love doing action and horror films. It's
fun to scream, cry and kick some ass!
Brian: What
led you down the crazy path to show business? Was
it a strong desire you were born with or did the
transfusion come later in life?
Christa:
I started out as a model, and that got boring
really quickly.
Brian:
What was it like to work with Tommy Lee on
'The New Guy'?
Christa: Tommy
is great! I've actually met him a few times. He's
like a big child - really nice, really fun with
lots of energy!!! I was actually really surprised
how sweet he was.
Brian:
It must have been cool to play a scientist in 'Mosquito
Man' , but were you disappointed that
your character met her demise at the end of a
bullet instead of a battle to the death with the
slimy titular creature?
Christa:
I had never been shot before, so it was fun to
act that out, and the struggle with the prisoner!
Brian:
You have worked with Mosquito Man's director
Tibor Takacs on more than one occasion. How did
that association come about?
Christa:
Tibor is a great hard working director. He was
very nice to let me be in his movies!
Brian:
Is there one incident or story that stands out in
your mind from being on the set on a Takacs'
production?
Christa: Yes. We were shooting a movie in Vancouver in the
winter in the ocean at 3 am. Tabor says,
"You know you're going in there." And
I'm like, "Yeah. I know. I can barely swim
and can only be in there for like 5
seconds!" Did I mention it was pouring down
rain?
Brian: It
appears from the special features on the '2001
Maniacs' DVD that your role grew in
importance once you got on set. Is this true?
Christa:
No, I think all the maniacs have their moment. It
was a huge cast, and in the sequel, I believe,
that number has slimmed down. There won't be so
many characters.
Brian:
How long did it take to film your magnum opus
scene with Dylan Edrington? The special effects
were wild, but must have been time consuming.
Christa:
We had to shoot it in like 2 takes. It was the
end of a long day, and if we didn't finish we
would have to shoot it back in L.A. Did I mention
5 minutes before the scene, Tim, the director,
got stung by wasps in his ear?
Brian: Edrington
seems like a zany guy. Do you have any particular
remembrances from working on that scene with him?
Christa: He
is very sweet and a great actor. His ass looks
great in the movie!
Brian:
You recently worked with Neil LaBute on 'The
Wicker Man' remake. That's huge! What
role do you portray in the remake?
Christa:
I'm Donna. I have the first 2 opening scenes when
you first see Nic (Cage). It was great!
Brian:
LaBute is simply an amazing artist. Do you have
any vivid impressions from working with him?
Christa:
He has a big Afro! Did I mention he's brilliant!
Brian: A
silly one - If someone could give you the perfect
gift - what would it be?
Christa:
The perfect man.
Brian:
Lastly, are there any upcoming projects that we
should look out for? Do you have any final
thoughts, hopes, dreams, plans that you'd like to
share with the eager Racks and Razors clientele?
Christa: Yah.
I'm in the 'Day of the Dead' remake.
It's gonna be wicked! |
