Laura Bach Interview
by Owen Keehnen
Laura, why don't you start
us off with a visual and describe the
place where you are answering these
questions?
Im
sitting in a coffee shop (Rue du la
course) in New Orleans drinking a latte
watching it rain. The coffee shop is old,
quant, and dimly lit but well kept. One
of my favorite spots.
So
first off you not only were associate
producer of 'Zombie Strippers' with
Jenna Jameson and Robert Englund, but you
also costarred in the film as Sassy Sue.
What tale from behind the scenes would
you like to be sure makes it in to a time
capsule about the filming of the movie?
During
training for the film Travis Wood
(Oxnard) and I were practicing fight
choreography. I forgot to duck and
instead meeting his fist with mine
fracturing my thumb. It turns out don't
punch with your thumbs out!
I also
want to hear about your role as Heather
in 'The Slaughter' (2006).
How did that come about?
Initially I didn't
get the role because I wasn't going to do
nudity, but eventually we compromised to
partial. I am so thrilled it worked out
because it gave me the opportunity to
start a working relationship with the
very talented Jay Lee.
You are
also Stella in the web-sci fi series 'Star
Chicks'. Can you give us all a
teaser for that which is going to make it
irresistible to all the Racks and Razors
readers?
Warmonger
aliens sent to earth to conquer earth but
in the bodies of three beautiful women.
Superheroes/heroines
are big right now. If you could pick one
or two superpowers to have what would
they be?
Read
minds and become invisible
Do you
have any other upcoming projects that you
want the racksandrazors readers to know
about?
Yes!
I just finished an action film starring
Val Kilmer and 50 cent called 'Blood
Out'. I play a tuff cop chick... I was
able to use some of my Sassy Sue training
in this! It's a fun film with a lot of
action.
From an
actor's point of view what has been your
most challenging role to date and what
about that part made it the most
difficult for you?
Probably
Sassy Sue because of the training that
went into it.
Vampires,
werewolves, zombies, witches, creatures,
aliens, telemarketers...what does it for
you horrorwise Laura and why?
ZOMBIES!
I love zombies because they are
inherritantly funny and social
commentaries. I also love vampire stories
because of their dark romanticism and
sensualness.
What was
the first movie to scare the shit out of
you?
'Nightmare
on Elm Street' for sure! It was funny to
then work with Robert Englund considering
I spent my childhood scared of him.
Okay,
we're pulling into the Laura Bach Drive
In. What three horror flicks are on the
triple bill for tonight and what goodies
are they going to be serving up at the
concession stand?
'Zombie Strippers',
'Rosemary's Baby', and 'Shawn of the
Dead'. The concession stand will be
serving pizza, sushi, and red wine.
What is
your dream (or nightmare) horror movie
role?
I
would love to play a bad guy! A vampire
or the deranged killer would be great.
What's the
best Halloween costume you ever had?
I love
Halloween and have lots of fun with my
costumes. My childhood friends and I
never did and still don't dress as
anything specific. We normally go as some
sort of gothic creature but maybe on
roller skates or a zombie peacock. Its
more fun for me to use this day to dress
as crazy and dark as I want, than to be
say a sexy cop.
What
scares you in real life?
Remote
cabins in the woods. Once you start
making horror films you start to see the
many possible ways one can be
slaughtered. That and spiders. |
