A troubled security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) with a dark past has a hard time holding onto his job.
He gets a job working graveyard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza which hasn't been in service due to a dark secret that wasn't unveiled
He sleeps on his job and dreams about his younger brother being kidnapped in which he tries to find clues as to how to get him back.
Pretty soon he will unveil what actually happened at Freddy's in which his dreams ties in with these situations.

During the start of this story seemed dark and mysterious with a security at a kids pizza parlour with him running away from danger and as to what will happen to him involving the robotic objects that are about to occur which is an okay start off.
Then years later what is boggling is that we spot out main character Mike working his shift as a security at a shopping mall and he chases after someone. When he catches him he beats the living crap out of him in which I wondered as to why he did that. It looked brutally intense while watching the outcome of this scene.
Afterwards, Mike is in a situation with a social worker along with Mike's nasty Aunt Jane and her lawyer discussing a custody case in which this was supposed to look humoress to watch. However the comedy elements used in this scene falls flat.
A good tense moment with Mike talking to an employment counsellor who seems a little wired up and closed minded towards him as the tension really draws into this scene as well as making it look witty.
When he agrees working security at the now closed down pizza parlour there's a nice bubbly discussion with police officer Vanessa which seemed uplifitng as well as the parlour looking dark and gloomy as this was well set for a horror flick leaving a dark feeling that something deadly will happen there later on.
He falls asleep and has a mysterious dream about his kidnapping brother as the moments drew me in wondering as to what this is. In later scene's of the film this dream occurs with more situations that involves somewhat evil and violent children attacking him. Alot of this looked well done.
The wicked Aunt Jane is at it again so it seems to get a bunch of goons as well as Abby's babysitter to vandalise the parlour after Mike finishes his shift as this looked pretty messed up. We spot great shots on them causing damage in which I got a sinking feeling that something deadly is all going to happen to these people.
This is where the real fear happens in which these animatronics mascots are about to come to life or so we may think as one of the vandalisers spots one of them moving and the objects mouth opens. Great focused camera shots on this while this person carefully takes a look as it left a chill down my spine since things were still when these moments happened.
Mike takes Abby to work with him in which she befriends with these mechanical objects. It seemed creepily uplifting when she shows her big brother that they're not bad at all. Seemed to be necessary to fit into the story.
While Mike tries to find the missing pieces from his dreams these mechanical objects do become deadly as well as Vanessa being aggressive with him as this made me wonder if she is responsible for the madness there from what she tells him on the place.
The final moments with one of the killers in the machine is revealed this is powerful to watch but nothing to special at the same time. I've seen better horror flicks than this but yet opens a door for a sequel which is in the works.
Bottom line is that this film had a nice retro feel to everything with nice mechanical objects for killers along with a mysterious dream but at the same time the flick is too overrated and nothing that great. Can be a fun movie to watch if you're in the mood for it. But don't expect anything too spectacular.

The acting is very well performed in which Josh Hutcherson (Mike) does a splendid job in his leading role by playing someone whom is troubled. He also knew on how to act violent or out of control. Shows off a nice charming type of behavior too. Offers a good seriousness whenever necessary for the scene.
Piper Rubio (Abby) seemed to bring on a good mopey attitude as a troubled unhappy child. Also shows a nice versatality when she thinks that she makes friends with the mechanical objects. She made this look truly believeable and had great timing with everything that she did here. Plus does a good job in a scene with her sobbing attitude.
Elizabeth Lail (Vanessa) shows off a good charming, bubbly and friendly outgoing attitude in which she made this come to life as well. Shows off as a super nice person. Plus shows off a good aggressive attitude too when she talks about a bad situation as she comes across someone whom is a possible suspect. She was all round energetic in her performance.
Mary Stuart Masterson (Aunt Jane
) was the best out of the cast in her supporting role even if her part wasn't huge. She really brought on a great evil and wicked attitude. She for sure made you want to hate her with her cold blooded behavior and had the perfect appeal for all of this. Made you wonder if she will get hers in the end.
Matthew Lillard
(Steve Raglan / William Afton) made his appearance very different this time around than normal in which he proves to be a true character actor. He comes off as someone whom is cocky with a dry sense of humor and brought all of this to life. Near ther end of his role he adds a perfect versatality with his menacing and sneering attitude. Yes he was one of the best in the cast.

Bloodied faces mangled.
Some stabbings but nothing too graphic.

The Newton Brothers were amazing as to what they brought to their composing as they did their homework very well here. Nice children chanting for the opening credtis which sounded cold and smooth. At times it was used in the middle of the story which still works in well. Plus there's great fast paced violin music for when the suspenseful action kicks in. Plus some whooshing and hissing sounds as well as metal scrapings here and there. Some of this had a retro horror vibe which is what I like in a flick/ Two thumbs up for them indeed.

Great 80's soundtrack by artists that we remember but two stand out quite well in which we have a track by the Romantics with "Talking in your Sleep" as it sounds very slick with the animatronics performing as this looked entertaining to watch all of this.
Also there's the punk rock godfather Iggy Pop with "Real Wild Child" in which these objects performing this as well in which Mike and his little sis are dancing to this. Very much stands out nicely with the vocalising on this.

Pharmacist: Asshole...

Mike Schmidt: What are you so afraid of? In the storage room. I saw your eyes. You were terrified.
Vanessa: You can do whatever you want with your own life. But if you ever bring Abby back here again, I will shoot you.

Steve Raglan: I always come back.
