Dalton Lambert (Ty Simpkins) is going to art school staying at a dorm as well as not getting along with his father Josh (Patrick Wilson) for his errors in life.
He realises that the demons are haunting him again while he does his art picture in which him and Josh goes deeper into the Further to put a stop to this once and for all.

The beginning shows off a funeral with the family getting together on Josh's dad whom was the one that died and his son Dalton being closed minded on afterlife which shows a kid going through one of those phases.
Then it takes 9 years later with a dysfunctional conversation between Josh and Dalton in which this looked very convincing when there's some guilt with Josh while Dalton is very irritable with him. Their discussions were for sure solid and created tension between the two of them when Dalton himself is going to a dorm for his university education.
While he's at the dorm, he encounters his roomate Chris Windslow whom is a pretty girl and has a nice outgoing attitude. Their discussions looked incredibly natural and making you want to watch as to what they plan out.
After Josh leaves the dorm he is spotted in his car talking to someone on his cell as we see a blur from the back window of his vehicle which leaves a hint that this is some sort of an evil spirit. A real attention grabber.
The next day, art class has begun and a bitchy art teacher instructs his stadent as to what to do as well as telling one of his students to tear up his art picture as this picture looked really good. It certainly draws tension into this scene.
While in class we spot a well focused moment with Dalton drawing his art picture as it looked intense while he's doing this which gave me a creepy feeling that somethings bound to happen and boy did it make me jump a bit. I knew I was going to like this sequel by having a feeling more terror will strike out.
Dalton and Chris goes to a frat party which looked fun to watch and making you want to join in on the excitement that happens there.
Later on, Dalton spots the heat frat student vomiting in a toilet with his back turned while Dalton steps a little closer and closer. This for sure gave me the chills that someone terrifying will happen here.
Then a perfect moment for anyone who fears the boogeyman he hides underneath a bed and we spot something ghoulish with their feet and hands trying to search for this poor kid. I knew instantly that he was going to be terrorised and having the skin crawl off my flesh. This for sure worked in greatly as I don't normally get scared. However, this worked in perfectly.
Josh is getting checked with an object scanning him with nice shots on this scenery and a real jumping moment happens big time for this fellow. Yes it look convincingly scary!!!!!
Josh is at home as he has pictures plastered on a glass door of his home that he checks out and carefully looking at them. While this happens a nice shot on something outside of the home watching him. I won't give away as to what happens next but it will make you jump. Plus he thinks he's safe after this situation but not quite. This makes you feel like you were in this situation too.
He travels to his ex-wife's home to get some help as to what is happening which was well set like he was having some counselling as it made me convinced that's exactly as to what it was.
What really works well is when Josh and Dalton are pulled into their past as to what happened on an intense situations with these two trying to put an end to all of this. Definetely has a fantasy type of vibe here.
Then are in the demon's world to try and put a stop to the evil force as there was alot of intensity going on which causes some hazards that involves people in the dorm like Chris. Alot of action packed moments that happens here.
Near the end of the story a great cameo by one of the original character's approaching Josh but you will have to see for yourself as to who this was. It worked in perfectly with the story.
Bottom line is that this one isn't as good as the rest of them but still a good movie and will please the fans big time. It still has that what goes bump in the night type of feel and seemed to work in well as the final one.... That is if it is the final one since horror flicks are famous to keep on making sequels. I'm glad that remakes are fading away since we need more sequels.

The acting is great as we have a solid performance by Ty Simpkins (Dalton Lambert) as one of those stand offish kids going through an insecure phase in which he does this part in terrifically. He also does well with his frightened reactions to the hauntings. Also does a good job by being a ghoulish figure acting believeably menacing and deadly. He for sure showed off a ton of energy into his performance and one of the best out of the whole cast.
Patrick Wilson (Josh Lambert) as the divorced family man does well by having hidden guilt about his past as well as showing off an emotional atttiude within everything that he did. He also does a nice job by trying to make up for his mistakes which was also believeable. Does a fantastic job playing his past life with a menacing attitude bringing it all to a hype. He is a true character actor.
Sinclair Daniel (Chris Winslow) was great with her spunky outgoing attitude and ready for anything. She was a force of energy and enthusiasm. Also does a great job when she has to act tough when the haunting are nearly attacking her. Had thr right pretty girl looks and appeal. Perfect choice for the role.
Rose Byrne (Renai Lambert) shows a nice nurturing and caring attitude. Also shows a great calmness to her behavior. Plus was believeable coming across as someone whom is helpful to a situation. She was a terrific character actress in her supporting role.
Hiam Abbass
(Professor Armagan) really brings it out powerfully as a difficult art teacher by being loud and to the point with things. She for sure was believeable by being bitchy when needed to be. She was a strong force of nature.

Joseph Bishara does a great job with his music in this one as he has real deep and high intense violin music working in well for the frightening moments. Of course the banging sounds worked perfectly too. Plus there's haunting like synthsizer music sounding perfect for the scary scene's too. Odd times there's soft piano playing which I didn't really dig as it was too common in today's films like I mentioned in other reviews.
