Winnie Carruthers (Jane Widdup) thinks that she has it bad and wished she was never born. Suddenly a killer in a mask murders people at a party and she ends up saving the day. Afterwards, she is in a world that no one knows whom she is and tries to pick up some missing pieces so she can be back in her own world again. Yet there's another killer on the loose.

The beginning looks mildly impressive with a camera shot on the snowy village gathering together for the tree lighting ceremony along with some corny moments of the Mayor Henry Water making a speech and so fourth.
Then there's situations with an argument happening which looked fairly okay to watch involving an old grouchy Roger Evans which he is a target for the killer of course later on with his actions. While things unravel, he is at his home and a door knocks in which this looked mildly spooky on the surroundings when he is about to answer his door. When he answers it a snowman is at the door as I had to laugh my ass off in which this is of course a comedy/horror offering both great timings on all of this. However a near jumping moment happens here as this was well shot and well done too.
Our lead character Winnie Carruthers is at a party where there's some rough kids and someone saying something nasty to her in which this grabbed my attention. This situation looked powerful and effective. Also she catches her boyfriend cheating on her. This was a nice key to the story as with these kinds of moments are quite common. In this scenario there's a gay makeout scene as I thought this was good since homo sexuality is very common in this day and age.
Then the masked killer comes in to do his nasty deeds in which there's another near jumping moment when he starts to attack someone. This should please slasher fans on how he kills including a funny moment as to what object he uses to murder someone in which I won't give away. You have to see for yourself.
Winnie murders this killer or so we think in which she slowly is about to take off the killers mask to see who it is in which this kept me watching in fright wondering if this maniac is not yet dead.
Later on, Winnie faces the local sheriff Buck Waters as he is cold towards her for killing his brother as this looked pretty fair as to how their interactions were during this moment. ALmost leaves an icy feeling wondering if he will be the next killer. At the same time it would've been too obvious.
Then she tries to go home to but no one knows who she is and things get intense and aggressive making these moments truly realistic. This also seems strange to watch making moments really mysterious in which things start to rotate again with parties and other events that happened beforehand.
She goes to the aid of someone she knew whom is Bernie Simon to sort out things in which this was well drawn in along with them going to a movie theatre and then they end up holding hands. I was thinking to myself if Winnie was closeted or just sitting on a fence.
When Winnie tries to go back to her family it looked well done on her trivia as to what she knows about them in which the conversatiosn were natural.
When things turn bad it looked intense while watching all of this unravel and then before you know it the killer appears and starts slaying others in which this was total bloody and action packed fun.
The near ending of the film explains itself greatly and real uplifting moments with Winnie which I also won't give away but it's truly a happy ending unlike most horror flicks. I thought that this was nicely put in.
Bottom line is that this flick was short and simple within the storyline and not as badly made like it was reputed to be. It almost was like a cross between Scream and Happy Death Day (Trust me this one was by far better). It did have some leaky holes but it was a fun one to watch.

The acting is in average shape in which Jane Widdup (Winnie Carruthers) plays the scream queen type of role in this one. Seemed fair with her aggressions or emotional attitude but at times needed to pick up the pace a bit. Shows it off pretty well onto the camera into what she was doing so that was a nice pointer. However she didn't seem to have the right looks for this type of role.
Jess McLeod
(Bernie Simon) however knew her craft very well as an outsider. She does well with her near shy attitude and timid behavior. Does well acting emotionless as well as being perfectly soft spoken. Also showed some great energy when the terror strikes.
Joel McHale (David Carruthers) was one of the best in the cast in which he offers a perfect versatality. He shows off a nice welcoming type of behavior at first which was convincing. Then he changes that attitude big time by acting loud and obnoxious. He certainly drew his point across that he is not someone to mess with.
Katharine Isabelle (Gale Prescott) shows off a nice and spunky supporting role. Seemed to be believeable as someone whom is full of life within whatever she portrayed onto the screen along with at times by showing off a sarcastic type of behavior too. She studied this role incredibly well and always enjoyed her work in everything that I've seen her in.
Justin Long (Henry Waters) added some okay charm and charisma as a dorky mayor if the town. He had the right goofy type of looks and personality in order to play this type of role. However, I didn't find him to be too funny like he was intended to have been. However he does well by coming across as a possible suspect.
Erin Boyes (Judy Carruthers
) offered a great versitality into her part as first a very warm and intelligent type. Then when the story goes into a twisted moment is great by being a drunk and dysfuinctional. She was believeable by getting hammered and behaving messed up. Yes she too studied her role well.
Sean Depner
(Buck Waters) had a memorable supporting role as a dorky lawman and even had the goofy looks to portray this type of role. He knew on how to behave sketchy or aggressive. Comes across as someone that you wouldn't want to trust and was a true character actor.

This film is definetely a bloodbath.
Person's throat is openly slit.

Axe is stabbed through victims.
Body pieces are revealed.
Tons of violent bloodsheds.

Russ Howard III knew his craft composing for a slasher flick. In fact he almost makes it sound old school reminding me of other retro slasher flicks with his classical scores throughout all of this having long violin sounds as well as the fast paced classical scores for the terrors that come into the story. Plus some banging sounds which always works for the near jumping moments. He also has some uplifting happy music for the near end of the story as it sounds very light and perfect. Way to go for this guy.
