A troubled young woman Cindy (Natasha Blasick) is about to be evicted from her home as well as fired from her job.
However she gets a call from an agent offering her a better life in the great outdoors in a cabin for a while.
Yet she realises she is being watched by a serial killer that was released purposely from the criminally insane so that he can continue his rampage.

When I watched the beginning on two people what looks like they're dressed in combat in the forestry brawling with one another which grabbed my attention as to why this is happening. For a no budgeter things looked quite energised which adds some mystery to everything.
Meanwhile when this is going on I spot a woman running away in the woods with a deranged looking killer in a uniform and a creepy mask on her tail. This certainly looked very horror entertaining reminding me of retro cult classics that I used to watch. Definitely pays a homage to those types.
What's more twisted is there's surveillance camera's on next to the trees in the forest with whom we called the Watcher doing instructions and so fourth adding even more twisted chemistry to the horror plot here.
The woman running away from this killer is tied barbwire to one of these trees which she begs for mercy to this maniac in which this is carefully performed. Makes me wonder if he will give in. Yet, in a horror film this doesn't often happen.
Indeed a cheesy but great beginning to a horror story on what will happen to the main character while we continue to watch the story unfold.
The story becomes disturbing with a troubled woman Cindy in an empty suite with the landlord threatening to throw her out with an eviction notice. I started to feel sorry for her in which this looked very well done.
This douchebag offers her free rent only to try and seduce her in which she refuses although he tries to be persitent about it all as it made me watch for more wondering if she will give in or not.
More depressing situations occur when she goes to her workplace that she was fired from and her former employer gets rude and nasty as well as threatening her to take legal action against her. When I watched this unfold it for sure looked powerful and showing true extreme tension. It made me feel more sorry for this poor woman.
When arriving back to her place she receives some little box and then gets a call with someone to tell her to open it along with offering her a job starting now. THis of course sounds fishy in which I got a deep feeling that she will be in trouble later on. What's even more mysterious is when she opens the box she spots keys to a vehicle. Now I'm really thinking that she is in for a terrifying trap.
When she is driving in the forestry area I knew that this is the same place where the terrifying incidents happened during the beginning of the story. To add to the terror was she asks a lumberjack chopping wood for where to find the location in which he has an eccentric attitude. Of course we need something like this in a slasher flick.
She meets up with the person who called her as she guides her to where she's staying and along with this some creepy looking stuff along the way as I enjoy these moments which is a slow start to the real terror.
When she arrives at the cabin the surroundings are beautiful with great camera shots on this. Plus is told there's no internet as well as other stuff that's inconvenient which of course is a good trap for the killer to come and so fourth. When this is set out things look a little too good to be true which comes across very clear during this scene along with what will go on later on.
Whike she is exploring or sleeping as well as wandering in the middle of the night there's many jumping moments with the killer sneakily stalking her without being noticed. These were one of my favourite moments. This was believably creepy to watch and can please any horror fan.
Cindy is about to go into a hot tub in which she is caught by surprise with a police officer Burnett by pointing a gun at her asking if anyone is with her or not along with him explaining he's searching for missing people that headed to the lodge. A perfect touch indeed to have this moment happening. THen he passes out as he looked battered in which this was mysterious as to what he went through.
A nice conversation between the two of them after she brings him into her place in what looks like a decent situation with her helping him as he explains he hasn't eaten in a few days. A nice touch to that for he was seraching for those killers night and day. Definitely flows in well with what they are talking about almost hinting that they end up having a relationship.
A real eye grabber when Burnett carefully opens up the dryer that Cindy put his clothes in as there's a deadly object in there. He cautiously tries to take it outside as it made me wonder if it will explode like he feared it would. This scene kept me in suspense.
Half decent action packed gunfighting out in the wooded area as Burnett has to fend for himself. Plus it featured the Killer whacking people with his sledgehammer. All of this didn't look convincing enough as it didn't show any intensity within the surroundings of the killings. Not terrible but needed some improvement.
While all of this is happening the Killer storms into the house in which the terror stands out well with Cindy screaming and trying to run out of the home. This for sure can please fans of low budget horror.
Near the ending of the flick this Killer is carrying a passed out Cindy in which he seems to almost suggest that he's going to do something perverted on a lying tree trunk. He uses a sharp stick object ready to stab into her anal which looked shocking to watch and wondering if he will succeed. I thought that this scene was unnecessary.
Bottom line is that this is a fun film that seems to pay a tribute to retro slashers such as Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It is exciting for the most part. Near the end of it the plot weakens a bit as I'd expect it to do better. Yet for the story in general it is well done for an indie flick like this one. Leaves the door open for a sequel.

The acting is fairly okay in which our leading actress Natasha Blasick (Cindy) seemed to breeze through nicely in which she definitely knew on how to act troubled with her behavior. Does a nice job when acting down or defensive. ALso shows off a nice happiness when she thinks there's good news. Also reacts well to being scared when the terror strikes her. A gold star for her for sure.
Richard Tyson (The Watcher / Scopophilio) does a great job with his seriousness when commanding others. Also focuses well when looking into the surveillance cameras. Believable when acting sleazy or getting cold and having a great sneering voice within his threats which shows off strongly.
Charlie Glackin (Prisoner AYO-886 / the Killer) didn't have any lines in which he was a Leatherface type of killer but seemed to do okay within his motives. Yet when he attacks with a weapon he doesn't seem to cut it with his brutal murders like you'd expect. Yet within his surroundings on what he does he seems to do okay though.
David A. Lockhart (Burnett) had a small role in the flick but was worth mentioning in which he presented himself very well onto the camera as a police officer. Does a nice job acting weary but alert during the beginning of his role. Also shows off a nice charming personality as a likeable type which was believable. Yes he can pull off his characteristics.

A part of a bikini is torn off a woman barbwired to a tree breast revealed.
Breasts revealed with a woman standing up from a hot tub.

Bloody stabbings.
Pieces of people's insides are in a jar..
Body parts are revealed.
Bloody gunshots.

The Darkest Machines seems to do a fair job with his music by having sharp sounds during some of the beginning moments with the killer ready to do someone in which really adds to this scene. Odd scheoy piano playing here and there which was okay sounding. Some what sounds like violin music as half sounds like it is from that instrument which was well done. But the other half from a synthesizer which is a bit cheesy at times. Neat quiverring and hissing sounds when the killer is being sneaky. Offering nice timing.
