After a couple have officially divorced their two daughters spend this time at their father's for the weekend in his new home. There's a garage sale and the youngest child Em (Natasha Callis) finds a box in which it summons her as well as she becomes possessed due to this along with her behavior as her parents must find a way to contact a witchdoctor to save their little girl.

An impressive beginning to the story which involves a middle aged woman with some sort of a box that she opens and then her body tsits and shows off a possession which reminds me on a special edition of The Exorcist in which it was done in a fairly good fashion. There's many good camera takes throughout this whole scene which makes you watch in suspense and terror.
Then when the story starts with a couple divorcing and going their own ways along with their two daughters spending the weekend with their father looked smoothly done.
While the two daughters are spending time with their father they all spot a garage sale and little Em spots the box that was spotted during the beginning of this movie which is a nice touch to what we know will happen later on in the story and it's not going to be a pretty site at all. Plus she peeks at the window of the home spotting the woman from the beginning of the story as well along with a nurse in the home being aggressive to this child which looked genuinely intense and creepy.
When little Em opens the bix while hearing it call to her as this was a nice horror touch she finds stuff that is ancient including a dead moth as this was what caused hell to break loose like in the beginning which for sure draws you in to see as to what will happen next.
Her situations looked well done when she seems to act aggressive or violent at first during the dinner table when she does something to her father as this was a scene that you can't forget after spotting this or when a boy in her class at school takes the box away from him and she gets violent in which this was done in a nice fast paced and intense as well as a raging situation.
Also nice special effects in the film like an invasion of moths flying all around in a room as this almost pays a tribute to movies such as Amityville Horror and the first sequel to the Exorcist.
The story becomes quite bland later on with situations like Em really acting out of control when the box is tossed away and goes to retrieve it in which it didn't do much for me.
Things spark up in a scene when Clyde's exwife Hannah blames him for her kids being upset as this looked quite intense to watch as well as what happens to her new boyfriend which looked powerfully intense while watching all of this.
However things get bland again when Clyde tries to look for a witchdoctor to perform an exorcism and no one is interested except for one preacher and when he does it's nothing too spectacular as we've seen better situations in films such as this one. Yet in the ending as to what happens to him is for sure a good shocking situation.
Bottom line is that this flick is based on a true story and I was looking for something great but I was in for a disappointment. Some scene's like mentioned were well done but other spots were slow and weakly inspired. That is just me as some of you might disagree with me. I've seen films involving possessions and they are better by getting entertained.

The acting is in pretty good shape in which Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Clyde) brought on the perfect charm and appeal as a divorced parent of his two daughters in which he showed a nice concentration while portraying this type of man. I really liked it when he played a lovable kind as well as being stern whenever he had to. Definetely brings out alot onto the screen and had the perfect looks for this role too.
Kyra Sedgwick (Stephanie) also does a splendid job as she shows a good spunky type of behavior acting perfectly likeable and full of life into whenever she had to be this way. Offers a great versatality whenever she gets aggressive offering a great closed minded type of behavior. Offers terrific energy within all of this.
Natasha Callis (Em) stood out the most throughout all of the cast in which she shows off a nice soft spoken type and really plunging into the intensity when she becomes slowly possessed. She was truly intimidating whenever she showed off her rage towards someone else. Also does a great job with her intense sobbing or acting emotionless too. She can really go places.
TV soap legend Grant Show had a supporting role in this flick and was thought on worth mentioning. He really had a believeable charming and light headed attitude as the new flame to the ex-wife. He certainly was good and clear with his speaking as well he did a terrific job with his intensity near the end of his performance which looked truly disturbing to watch him be like this.

Anton Sanko was a pro with his work on this film in which he shows high pitched classical sounds for the possessions and so fourth. More good mysterious sounding violin music as well as some piano playing whenever this was necessary. Also terrific sharp violin screeches as this works perfectly for the supernatural situations.
