On a Black Friday, taking place on Thanksgiving, a store opens on a holiday for a special sale only to have victims trampled on resulting a death with the store owners wife.
A year passes as a killer in a mask and pilgrim outfit does away with people that were responsible for what happened.

I was looking forward to this after this one being based on a fictional trailer in 2007 from the Grindhouse flick in which that one grabbed my attention the best so here goes my review....
There's a great setting with a big family getting together for Thanksgiving as it looked nice and calm as well as good close up shots on a turkey being served. I had to admit that all of this is done in a good fashion
.
Then one of the family members Mitch Collins gets called in to work as thereThis offers some dark comedy by what these aggressive customers are saying wanting to get into the store. Plus when some family members are snuck into the store before anyone else I had a sinking feeling that they will barge in and that's just what happens with nice close up shots on all of this. Plus it's a creepy feeling that people will get accidently killed as well.
Then a year passes and they're about to open up the store again after it being completely shut down as we have Mitch getting aggressive on the people reopening it after what had happened. This almost leaves a clue that he will be the mysterious killer. Yet we all know it would've been too obvious.
There's a perfect dark shot on the mysterious killer sharpening his axe preparong for the kill when the story starts to unravel as well as looking up the people that were responisble for the accidental murders that happened at the store which is a great moment for a slasher film as it reminded me of retro slashers such as Prom Night and Graduation Day.
When the killer goes out to do away his first victim whom is now a waitress at a restuarant things for sure looked intense as to what he does to her which looked brutal and then the end results to her as this will please gorehounds big time. What's even more shocking, the killer put her belongings up on the roof of the store. This looked perfectly gruesome. and a little shocking too.
When more murders happen the group of teenage friends discover on their computer the killers plans with names on the table for who will be there on Thanksgiving in which they discuss this. This scene tries to make you have the chills but just doesn't cut it. Plus when they're at a diner the head teenager heroine Gabby looks out the window and spots the killer outside staring at her and then when she looks again for the second time he is gone. I'm convinced that they borrowed this off the Halloween franchise but it worked in well.
While Gabby is walking down the street with her friend Bobby the conversations were well done as it flowed in naturally in which on what they're talking about makes you want to watch more on what is about to unravel.
On Thanksgiving it's a tradition to have football as the school plans for one. We have a horny cheerleader jumping on a trampoline to impressive one of the football players as I knew on what was going to happen next since this was well remembered in the 2007 fake trailer. What the killer does to this football player looked incredibly powerful. Almost like a Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers type of powerful killing.
Other teens whom are walking in the silent school hallways are caught by this maniac and the moments catch you by surprise which almost makes you jump out of your seat. I will admit that this is well done.
The police discusses to have a Thanksgiving parade to lure in the killer which I knew what was going to happen since this was put into that trailer. THis one was also done in great taste in which the killer is celver at disgusising himself so no one will catch him. Things run amok when a murder starts as well as smoke bombs being revealed and the intensity of the locals trying to get away and are freaked out. This of course was nicely done for a slasher flick.
The real shocking terror is yet to come in which some people are kidnapped and tied up while a certain person is ready for a feast. Yes folks, canniballism. This person tries to get away as my heart sank by having a feeling that she won't be successful at all since that's so common in a slasher flick.
What's more shocking is a victim in being cooked alive in a giant oven. This isn't for the squeamish at all imagining if this was you trapped and baked to death. It definetely looked graphic. For people who can stand this type of terror like they saw in the Saw franchise will love this moment.
Then dinner is about to be served with the kidnapped guests tied at the table with some of the corpses that the killer has done in which doesn't look pretty at all. It was believeably sickening with one of these people vommiting. Another great tension in the story.
Gabby is on the run with the killer following her with nice camera shots on her running in the deeo dark woods as this had a nice touch to a horror story making things looking spooky and gloomy. Also there was a moment when she is climbing a fence and it made me wonder if she will succeed.
We think that the killer is revealed but the story tricks the audience watching which is a teaser and cleverly done.
Great shots on the near ending when an explosion occuring thinking that the killer is done in but the body isn't revealed which for sure opens a door for a sequel as this is common for a slasher flick.
Bottom line is that this was a well done slasher flick offering plenty of horror violence and plenty of scene's that are hard to watch if you can't handle sickening moments or have a strong stomach in general. Seems to pay a tribute to other slasher flicks. Very much like a Scream type of flick. It's also clever the killer is dressed in a pilgrim suit with the axes they carry and wearing a mask as well. We have many holiday slashers like Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, Black Christmas and this is one of the first slashers to take place on this tradition so I found it necessary to make one.

The acting is not too badly performed in which Addison Rae (Gabby) showed alot of energy and enthusiasm in her role. She shined off as an innocent and intelligent type of teenager. Shows great adreanaline when trying to run away from a maniac or getting to the point of things. Deserves fair credit.
Jalen Thomas Brooks
(Bobby) was very energetic in his role as a nice kid. He knew on how to be clear with his discussions on topics and can really get into what he did in his performance. Also was well focused on situations too. A true character actor.
Patrick Dempsey (Sheriff Eric Newlon) was the best out of the cast in which he delivers a great guy next door type of policeman. Was believeably likeable on what he does in his performance. Also shows a great versatality with his insane aggressions too. He was a great choice in casting for this role.
Tomaso Sanelli (Evan) almost had the right appeal for the role as a football jock. Comes across well as someone whom is sarcastic and at times a bit cocky. Shows off some nice aggressions when things don't turn out right. This shines off quite well. Shows some nice pizzaz.
Gabriel Davenport (Scuba) was another fine actor as an outgoing teen in the flick in which he shows alot of spunk and enthusiasm by what goes on. Seemed to breeze by well in his role as well as studying his part in a fair fashion.
Rick Hoffman (Thomas Wright) offered hsi role greatly as a charming and outgoing family man along as the owner of his store. He was for sure a key supporting role in the flick. Was clear within his speaking. Plus offers a nice humoress side to him. Reacts believeable especially when he gets sick after what he spots. Yes he was believeable in his role.
Karen Cliche (Kathleen) was sharp within her presence and knew how to have a nice smoothness to her lines. She was somewhat mysterious within her presence. Had a nice calm attitude and shows some versatile behavior especially when she realises as what is happening to her.
Ty Olsson (Mitch Collins) seemed to come across nicely as one of the managers at the store in which he shows off an easy going type of attitude and then changing that when a year passes acting obnoxious. However he was a wee bit over the top but passable at the same time.

Gore hounds will love this!!!!
Bodies are bloodily crushed in a store on a rampage
Side of a woman's head is sliced open
WOman's head
is frozen against a freezer door with a result as well as her body cut in half.
Many decapitations
Insides are spilled out
Tons of bloody stabbings
Someone is burned alive in an oven
Lots of violent bloodsheds

Brandon Roberts did a nice job on this piece in which he has alot of strong classical composing for the real jumps and suspense in the story. At times he makes it sound retro which I enjoyed very much. Alot of sound clashings as well as intense trombone and screechy sounds with the violins. Indeed it worked in the stroy for the most part. This wasn't a let down by any means as he for sure followed the story line and what was needed to be done.

There are many songtracks by bands but the one that stands out the most is during the end credits in which is the starring cast by the gothic punk band the Misfits with their track "Where the Eagles Dare" as it sounds good and strong with the vocalising and loud guitar playing.

John Carver: Sorry, Jessica! This year, there will be... no leftovers!
