Dead bodies are turning up aorund parts of the town as some detectives lead by Logan Nelson (Matt Passmore) is trying to resolve the cases in which it's another one of the deadly games created by John Kramer (Tobin Bell) whom is also known as Jigsaw.
He holds 5 victim's in a barn to play his deadly game in which they play his tapes in each level as to what to do in order to stay alive but things seem too complicated with the deadly devices that are all the way throughout the barn.

An awesome beginner with action packed moments on a criminal trying to run away from the law in which there's great camera takes on all of this. When this criminal is cornered he explains about the game like we've heard about what Jigsaw does to the victims he's kidnapped. This was an impressive moment for one of the Saw sequels. Suddenly it showed the opening credit of the film. Ahh yes great timing.
Then the settings take place inside a barn with new victims chained up and having a metal buckets on their head. John Kramer says his orders on what to do in which there's sharp camera shots on some electric saws in the saw activating and the chains pull them all in. This for sure grabbed my attention wondering if they will survive this and what to do. Certainly for terrorising and suspenseful from what we spot during this situation.
Between these moments there's a discussion with detectives at their station as to what is happening along with them going on a mission to find out on what is going on with these people under Kramer's grasp.
Plus coroners doing research on the slaughtered victims that didn't complete with his deadly game on them.
Yes the writers did their homework well since this happens often in the Saw legacy. It still looked effective and solidly done.
Keep watching the situations with the levels that these people have to go through in which there's a nice mysterious camera shot on a tricycle and it pans up to the Jigsaw figure and it's eyes glowing looking evil. I knew I was in for an enjoyable sequel indeed.
When the survivors enter the next level in which they have a cassette to be played with Kramer's orders things look even more intense when one of the victims whom is Ryan forcing towards another victim Carly to choose three needles to being injected as one of them is a safe one. Alot of peer pressure during this deadly deed and is too scared to choose. Ahh yes the intensity really rises here and at the end of this situation is not for the squeamish to find out as to what happened here.
During other surviving moments Ryan's leg is trapped in a broken floor with sharp barb wire wrapped around him as he has to think fast to try and save him as well as others that are trapped in a silo with feed pouring in along with dead objects being tossed at them. This doesn't look pretty to watch wondering if they will achieve Kramer's level or not. I won't give it away but it's quite graphic.
During these terrifying moments there's a nice discussion with the head detective Logan Nelson and
Eleanor Bonneville in a lounge as there's a charming and serious situations between what they were talking about which stood out nicely.
Eleanor takes Logan to a place where there's objects that are deadly which made me think that this is part of Kramer's deadly deeds. It for sure made me wonder if the two of them are in on the horrific situations.
More deadly moments occur with the rest of the survivors in which the objects looked great and effective. Kind of hypnotic but you will see what I mean. These situations were fairly new in this sequel and it's a treat for the Saw fans.
Eleanor and Logan enters the deadly barn as the setting here looked dark and creepy. This was an enjoyable moment as a dark twisted secret between the teo of them starts to occur. But it isn't what it seems afterwards. A terrific mysterious moment.
Bottom line is that this is Saw VIII under a different name. It's just as clever and full of action packed fun. For people who enjoy CGI and horror violence this one's for you. It's nice they're still making sequels. More twists and turns with this flick. Also it shows an old school type of feeling with Kramer's voice on cassette tapes in which the victims need to listen to in order to try and survive the game.

The acting is solidly performed in which Matt Passmore (Logan Nelson) really packed a punch as a charming detective. Seemed to react well to conversations and was really on the ball with what he was doing. Also shows a nice aggressive behavior quarter way through his performance as well as speaking coldly which was well done too.
Callum Keith Rennie (Detective Halloran) offers a terrific seriousess as well as showing a somewhat grouchy and arrogant behavior too. His looks and appeal to his role was a bonus as well. Draws off a mysterious behavior as well.
Hannah Emily Anderson (Eleanor Bonneville) was very sharp and calm in her role and seemed very strong with her speaking as well as showing a good easy going type of personality as well as showng alot of great adrenaline for the terrors that strikes.
Laura Vandervoort (Anna) was on the ball as one of the victims playing the game in which she shows off a somewhat courageous attitude which shows off as well as showing some intense energy too with her screaming actions. She for sure knew on how to get into character.
Paul Braunstein (Ryan) had the most effective supporting role with his annoying and whiney attitude. He for sure came across as someone who's fearful to the extreme and wanting out. Does well with his forceful attitude towards others. Gives you an impression that he won't survive the game.
Mandela Van Peebles (Mitch
) shows off as the wise victim in his role and can be convincing as a leader on what to do to survive the game. He shows alot of charisma and energy within all that he did and acted believeably intense near the end of his performance.
Brittany Allen (Carly) also had the most effective supporting role with her whimpering sobs due to fear. She really knew her craft with her intensity and fears surrounding her. She was terrific by freaking out with everything that is happening. Her role wasn't very big but she can be well remembered to anyone that saw this flick.
Of course we can't forget about Tobin Bell (Jigsaw / John Kramer) in which he appears quarter way through the story apart from his voice on the tapes. He still shows an expressionless and emotionless atttiude along with speaking coldly as he for sure makes you feel unsafe when he's around.

Hand is blown off.
Needles are injected in a woman's neck.
Leg is minced through a sharp wire.
Corpse is revealed with their body torn open.
Corpse is revelealed with half of it's head blown off.
Skinless corpses are revealed.
Scalps are slit off.
A head is sliced like a banana.
Lots of bloodsheds.

Charlie Clouser does a great job with his work on this by having dark sounds almost with hissing, airy and banging effects. Great low synthesizer playing especially when the Jigsaw figure appears (Classic!!!!) Perfect buzzing electronic synthesizer music when something terrifying happens. Quarter way through some airy trombone music sounding powerful. Plus the odd light violin quiverring.
