After a closeted jock is killed by a masked maniac, the school does a memorial on him only to have this killer doing others away. A graduating group of misfit kids tries to reveal on who is killing these people but are in danger as it could be any one of them.

At the start of the film we spot a closeted jock coming home from school as well as spotting a trail of pictures leading up the stairs of his home that reveals his lover as this was supposed to keep you in suspense wondering if he will be murdered by the killer but it's been done too many times. However, it's unique as to how the killer first attacks him which was a bit different in a slasher flick.
The story drags when the kids are going to school and planning a memorial for that jock as it needed more enthusiasm.
Suddenly during the middle of the night our main girl Makani Young wakes up and everything is still when she goes down near the kitchen. Things are messy as well as a door left open which almost works to have a chill down your spine wondering if she will be attacked by the killer or not.
After the funeral in the cathedral one of the friends faces the masked killer as there's good camera takes on all of this and the suspense was fair when this maniac tries to kill her as there's fast action movement in the cathedral. A clever killing when it does happen.
The next day arises as the outsiders stick together and discusses situations at a police station. One of their friends Zach Sanford leaves and his father picks him up. Suddenly he chastises him about his friends being phoney and giving him a hard time on smoking dope as the moments here looked strong and realistic so I will give the makers credit for this scene.
Zach throws a party as the moments looked exciting and then he makes an announcement on sitations. This situations looked mildly suspenseful and brain teasing as well thinking these guests are in danger.
When the party ends the masked killer is back and trying to get another one of his victims as he tries to escape in a ventilator with a sharp knife stabbing through as this kept me in suspense wondering if he will dodge this deadly weapon. When he is outside and something deadly happens near a water fountain full of beer cans I would say that this is the best killing scene as it is set very darkly. One of the moments that saves this trashy film from bombing.
Ollie Larsson takes Makani on a car ride as when he makes a stop she discovers that he has a gun which leaves a mysterious feeling that he could be the killer. However the moment here isn't as spooky like it should have been.
More bland but mysterious moments in the story leaves some clues as to who could be the killer as well as Makani in her home with a blazing fireplace going off and a trail of pictures on her and Ollie along with her being pitted against the masked maniac which I didn't find inspirational at all.
The best scene happens quarter way through when a corn field festival and event happens but a fire breaks out in which Makani and the surviving group of friends tries to struggle through it all as the settings looked great for a horror flick along with the killer being revealed as this looked powerful to watch as well. This was another scene that saved this one from bombing.
Bottom line is that this is a Scream ripoff. It shows some retro moments like cassette tapes and other 80s stuff. Yet it doesn't explain itself as a flick taken place during that era as we had to figure it out on our own. If you haven't seen this one then you're not missing out on much at all.

The acting is in average shape as Sydney Park (Makani Young) seemed to show some enthusiasm into her part and getting to the point with stuff. She also shows good energy when stressing something or behaving naturally during situations as she got into her role quite well.
Théodore Pellerin (Ollie Larsson) definetely drew in his role as someone whom is mysterious and untrustworthy. He had the goofy looks and appeal to his role so this was another plus. Offers a good charm into his part as well as doing okay while trying to act romantic and caring.
Dale Whibley (Zach Sandford) stood out well as a weed smoking teen. Yet at times he doesn't act doped out like you'd expect out of his character here. He has the looks for this role which is a nice poitner. Also shows great energy and intense energy near the end of his performance.
Jesse LaTourette (Darby) was one of the best in the cast as a transgender in which she really comes clear as that in her performance. Shows off a great hyped up behavior especially for upsetting moments. She was a true character actress and really studied this role greatly.
Diego Josef
(Rodrigo Doran) struts his stuff nicely in his supporting role. He does a nice job whenever he had to act aggressive in certain spots as he brought that to life in a fair fashion. Also offers a likeable attitude too which was believeable as well. Shows great adrenaline near the end of his role when he is prey to the killer.

A person's heels are slit
Knife is stabbed through someone's head and later on is bloodily hung in a cathedral
Throat is openly slit
Blade is sliced through someone in a cornfield

Zachary Dawes composes thie piece as in the beginning of the story offers some spooky type airy sounds along with synthesizer scratching noises. Low icy sounds too along with high sounds during the killer ready to do in the victim is exposed on here as well. All of this was done together in a fair fashion and better than the story itself.
