For her first day of orientation, Dr. Tristian Mackenzie (Elissa Dowling) makes her way to the Silverdale Psychiatric Hospital for the criminally insane, where she learns of the strange series of cases from the similarly strange Dr. Moon (Airisa Durand). All the patients discover their childhood fears of the boogeyman and later are framed for murder they were innocent of not doing so.

A decent start off to the film with the wraparound character Dr. Tristan Makenzie going for her orientation for the criminally insane in which her discussions between the head of the ward Dr. Gabey Moon looked sharply done.
It's impressive when Moon shows her each patient as to what their reason for being there in which the picture settings on these mental patients looked good and dark before she goes into their history showing each chapter of it all as I found this cleverly well done.
The first story was my most favourite one in which those are often the best one's in an anthology. This involves a scared young woman named Cathy McGowin getting scared in her dark room as well as nicely low lit up room to make things seem ghostly as it suits the scene big time.
Great shot on the boogeymans monstrous hands opening a foggy door to her room while she hides underneath the covers in which this was a great imagination for anyone during their childhood thinking this is going to happen and sinking in the sheets is the protection of fear.
Later on she does a hook up date with Chad in which there's well done discussions between the two of them as it looked believeably rocky by what they were talking about.
She purposely locks him in a room where she first encountered the booygeyman in which this lieft a chill down my spine thinking that he will be terrorised by this being in which the settings looked great for this moment to occur.
Then the next patient is observed on a sketch artist named Olivia as she has her dark fears of the boogeyman along with doing her artwork and being frusterated with it along with thinking that people she knew were harrassing her in order for her to being scared. This was strongly done in when she warns everybody while making some calls.
What psyched me out is that her artwork she's struggling with has a mind of it's own revealing creepy situations involving the booygeyman. If you want to see this things eyes light up it has this too. Watch for it. Looked very creepy.
In the third story was very exciting which involved two people, John Conroy and Rose making a trip to a cabin that's reputed to being haunted in which looked exciting in every aspect along with them at times videotaping their journey. This seemed to pay a tribute to those found footage horror flicks and worked a bit but you could tell that it was computerised when we spot the record picture and timing on screen. Oh well.
The situations between the two of them looked strong especially within their argumentive attitude. Especially with one of them going crazy.
Rose hides in a bed when the boogeyman appears which looked fairly intense while watching the outcomes from all of this.
In the 4th tale seemed a little slow as it reveals a troubled teen Glen with his brother Ethan living and struggling in which the story seemed quite slow in alot of spots.
Glen hallucinates and has a deadly past and uses his gun in which you wonder as to what he's thinking and the boogeyman starts to appear in which the story picks up big time when this happens.
The story offers alot of twists as well as dark secrets involving the both of them. It also offered some great terror and action packed situations.
So quarter way of this tale improved big time from what I spotted later on which involved some hauntings with a tv show starting to air which offered something strnage with this object.
The final tale is one of the best one's as it involves a relationship with a potheaded rebellious son Shawn Kendall with his mother Rosalie. Their conversations flowed nicely especially when this kid has attitude towards his mother and then this parent seems reasonable she poisons his mind about the boogeyman coming to get him if he is bad which looked dysfunctionally funny.
Later on in the story looked terrorising and suspense with lots of action when Shawn spots the boogeyman and his mom doesn't spot it thinking he's gone nuts.
Then he sees this object when this ghoul is about to enter his mom's room to get her and he tries to stop the madness. This moment was a real teaser wondering if this time she will see this moment happen. Kept me watching big time wondering as to what's going to happen next.
Then when Tristan has heard all about this story a real terror happens to her as I won't give it away but it looked cleverly well done and spooky too.
Bottom line is that this was a very brilliant independent horror anthology that works on it's own. It's clever on how it works out with the wraparound story and being introduced to the patients at the asylum and the reason for them being there in which it goes into the chapters. In fact it works out as a story in one instead of what you see in flicks such as Creepshow or Nightmares. The special effects were quite decent and so was the lighting effects as well as the foggy moments on the boogeyman entering a room. For a small indie film this seems to have alot going for it and the makers should be proud of this piece. It's very effective for when we all remember being scared of the dark during our childhood era. Two thumbs up for everyone that worked on this one.

The
acting is pretty good in which Elissa Dowling (Dr. Tristan Makenzie) seemed to present herself well as someone whom is in orientation for her first time working at the asylum. She really showed a nice and still attitude within whatever she did here. She also had a good calming type of behavior too. All of this added up nicely and came across well with her presence onto the camera.
Airisa Durand (Dr. Gabey Moon) certainly had a great sharpness and wicked type of behavior as the one running the asylum. She for sure brings her aggressions quite nicely. Also was great near the end of her performance bringing her madness to the extreme. A nice character actress indeed.
Chynna Rae Shurts (Cathy McGowin) offers a nice versatality into her role in which she does well crying in fear from the boogeyman and bringing this all to life which looked fairly natural. She also offered a good smooth talking slickness when coming across as almost lustful. Brings her wicked aggressions to life too. She was one of the best in the cast.
Jason Reynolds (Chad) does a nice job in which he shows a nice seriousness to his part in the film and having a no nonsense type of attitude. He knew on how to react to things and had the okay looks for the role that he portrayed here.
Nicolette Pullen (Olivia) also came across powerfully in her role as she knew on how to act aggressive and getting to the point of stuff in which you could tell that she studied her role inside out. She also reacted well to being scared.
Steve Larkin (John Conroy) had a powerful force of nature as someone trying to find evidence on hauntings in which he had a ton of energy into his part and had a nice gravelly voice as well as the crazy type of looks which was a bonus to his part. He knew on how to act crazy at the end of his performance. A worthy character actor.
Jax Gellington (Rose) had a no bullshit type of behavior and was sharp with her speaking while doing so. She brought on her emotions, energy and aggressions very strongly. She another fine actress out of the cast and a right choice too.
James Luster (Ethan) shows off a perfect seriousness into his role but at times was stiff with his characteristics. Yet had the good appeal for this type of role nonetheless. He for sure worked hard by playing this role.
Rollyn Stafford (Glen) knew his role well as a troubled and disturbed teen in which he shows off a good emotionless attiude. Does a nice job when freaking out with the hauntings surrounding him and going wild while doing so.
Calvin Morie McCarthy (Shawn Kendall) had the most effective role in the chapters of this anthology. He knew on how to act like a rebellious teen just acting larger than life. Brought his aggressions to the limit. He was a natural ham within his performance in which gave me a chuckle while seeing his performance.
Marcella Laasch (Rosalie Kendall) portayed her funny role as the mother as she acted deceivingly good natured only to be a bit wicked too. She made me laugh within her role. Seemed to know her stuff as a dysfunctional family woman.

Nicolette Pullen fully reveals her breasts while taking a shower in her chapter of the anthology.

The boogeyman bites off a side of a persons shoulder.

Ben Eastman was marvellous with his work on the anthology as it sounded theatrical type material for a horror flick such as this. It was dark sounding with some whooshing sounds as well as icy tones. Plus in other spots we hear groaning sounds along with ghostly syntheziser music too. He certainly did his homework for each chapter that he played on and was a great choice for this piece.

Rosalie Kendall: Do you know what happens to little boys who disobey their mothers??? The boogeyman will get them.
