An architect Larry (John Saxon) and his wife Barbara (Lynda Day George) moves into a mansion thinking that they will have a happy life. However, the place is haunted and possessed by an evil witch Alma Martin (Janice Lynde) who resided there before them as this spirit is deadly and wants to control and posess Barbara.

A real lame beginning in which people have a party dancing on rolling objects and stuff like that. Then one of the partygoers explore the area in which resides a colonial mansion as there was supposed to be a deadly moment with an evil haunting. A deadly incident happens but it looked lacking in which this was supposed to be intense while watching this outcome.
Then present day happens with a married couple Larry and Barbara Andrews arriving from an airport to be greeted by their charming friend Del Giorgio in which they are taken to out to a nice restaurant as well as the mansion in which they now reside at in which this looked believeably uplifting with the nice surroundings of this home and their reactions to how happy they are.
However, Del tells them about the place being haunted and a legend of a witch named Alma Martin as to how she practised black magic in which there's fun cheesy green glowing special effects when she shows off her powers in a flashback sequence as to what Del tells the goin on's of this wicked woman. After the story is told and explains it's a legend one of the women that was with him and their friends freak out saying it's true in which this was supposed to look intense but this whole situation was in rough shape and needed improvement.
Then the hauntings start to happen when the married couple are in bed in which this awakens Barbara and is a victim to the blue glowing and foggy effects as I do admit this seemed to work in okay but however things looked a little too cheesy to get some scares for what goes on in the night.
However, the next day there's an accident that happens to Larry in which this made me wonder if he is okay or not. This looked well done. Also the green glow surrounding Barbara when this all happened didn't seem to work in well when this was morning daylight.
Many mild effective moments when Larry is home from work and Barbara acts unpredictable while acting lustfully romantic or depressed which left an impression on me that she is posessed by Alma's evil spirit.
Barbara's doctor pays a visit to her and before he leaves after having a talk with her he warns her not to go down to the crypt which is under her mansion in which this seems common for a horror film and as usual she doesn't listen. What happens there looked mildly terrorising as to what happens to him while driving away. It was packed with decent suspense.
Beforehand Larry took Barbara to the hospital to see what's wrong with her after she got cut with a knife and when he returns all the people that worked there denied him that she wasn't there for a check up as this certainly drew in mysterious moments. Plus things looked mildly intense and powerful when he tries to get to the bottom of things.
Larry goes to see a witchdoctors performance on someone whom is at risk with a scary situation it looked quite rough on what he does. It just doesn't look impressive at all. However what he does in a certain spot of the film looked a bit graphic but that's about it.
While he is on his job site we spot a crane turning on by itself and does something deadly to one of the workers in which there's greatly careful camera shots on this making this scene looking very terrorising as it made me wonder if someone is going to be killed. A nice moment in a supernatural horror flick such as this one.
Del goes to visit Barbara at her home but they both have a deep dark secret which looked effective in the story as well as to what we all may think is going to happen but only for this moment to be a possible death trap and boy does it look adrenalised as to what happens here.
Then the action starts to happen when Larry talks to the witchdoctor and his wife Leia in which they go do some researching as well as posessions involving Barbara with neat eye laser effects shooting out, having a glowing background with evil powers being unleashed and moments like that. Plus struggling battles when Alma reveals herself with anyone who survives tries to put a stop to it all. This wasn't terribly done but I've seen situations in other shows that are a whole lot better.
Bottom line is that this is a horror film that is stale and not much going for it. Tries to be scary but it was a bit too cheesy for that effect to happen. Had some mildly amusing moments with the cheesy special effects but that's about it. Better off next time.

The acting is very dated so I will do my best here .... John Saxon (Larry Andrews) seemed to bring on a mr nice guy attitude in which he came across as someone likeable and happy. Also shows off a nice aggressive attitude when the terror happens. Plus he was good by acting forceful and getting to the point of things. He certainly had a nice versatality within all that he had here.
Lynda Day George (Barbara Andrews) shows off a nice happiness which shines off pretty well. She also knew on how to be romantic which looked fairly convincing onto the camera when she performs this way. She also showed off a ton of energy when she slowly gets possessed like acting tired or unwell. Plus does great by acting intense as well.
Michael Dante (Del Giorgio) brings on a convincingly friendly charming behavior when he talks to his fellow actors. Shows off a good generous and likeable attitude. Also changes this mode later on by showing off another side to him which shines off well too. A convincing character actor I must say.
Mario Milano (Dr. Frank Albanos) has a nice seriousness for what he has to say about certain things and shows off a nice calmness to his part of the story. Seemed to draw in a good mysterious attitude as well. He deserves some decent credit for what he does here.
Janice Lynde (Alma Martin) was great as the witch in the film offering a believeable powerful attitude and knew on how to act deadly as well as having wide eyed expressions when she tries to attack her onscreen victims. She was a nice horror character actress.
David Opatoshu (Dr Soloman) drew off a seriousness into his role as well and doing his ceremony but seems a bit wooden by what he does here. He reacts well to situations as he wasn't terrible but needed a bit of a push to improve his performance here.
Anne Marisse (Leia Solomon) was one of the better ones of the cast in which she was very gentle in her speaking along with having a convincingly strong type of behavior. Does well with talking to others and has the knack to pull this role off along with her looks too.

A witchdoctor takes out an inside of someone's chest.

Pino Donaggio seems to breeze through well with his classical creepy violin composing for the adventureous scene when the terrors strikes as well as creepy synthesizer music especially for flashbacks invovling some evil deeds done. Low laser sounds occurs for the possessions which was effective. He offers some mellow peaceful violin and piano playing especially for the calm scene's in this flick. I must say he did most of his work well.
