The story takes place in the summer of 1986 as a group of camp counselors tries to reopen a camp at Camp Trustfall after a legend of a killer that took place there years beforehand.
However when they prepare for everything, a killer in a black devils mask slaughters them one by one.
Could the legend be true?

During the start of the film we spot a dorky looking couple pitching a tent and the boyfriend telling his girlfriend a scary tale of a killer which looked lame and then when they call it a night something happens which isn't too much of a surprise and looking quite boring.
The opening credits looked nicely done I have to admit as the camera shots are taking place around the lake and the campground iun which the pictures on all of this looked perfectly clear with lush forestry.
However, after this we spot twp camp counsellors on their way to the campground whom are the main characters in the story Tiffany Clark and Kimberly Star as their conversations looked very forced. I had a feeling that I was in for another bad indie horror flick.
When they go to a store on their way to summer camp they realise that no one is attending the store which is supposed to look creepy and suspenseful but this didn't do the trick at all.
However, in another scene we spot someone hitchiking with a mysterious driver spotting this which seemed to look mildly effective as well as wondering if this person will be done in.
When the two friends arrive there's a get together as to what everyone's duty is to be but the interactions that were set out looked too forced and sloppy. Plus some moments were supposed to be funny but that misses by a longshot big time. During these situations one is warned that the camps cook is a pervert as this seemed to pay a tribute to Sleepaway Camp since one of the cast in this flick has a supporting role.
While the counselors starts doing their duties the moments are too bland and over the top as well as extremely corny. Plus spotting dysfunctional people like of course the cook and so fourth.
When night hits they all get together for a campfire in which they tell a spooky story on a legendary killer that took place at the summer camp in which I must admit was a nice moment put into the story. Yet when things were supposed to seem cringing and all along with the camp owner Bob Lahey discussing that the story isn't supposed to be brought up trying to make things seem more suspenseful this all falls flat.
There is a nice scene with an arrogant counselor Zach Davis trying to be nice to a wheelchair counselor Donnie after what he put him through showing a nice change of heart on stuff.
Later on the counselors and directors spot Donnie's wheelchair washed up in the lake as this leaves a nice mysterious horror feel as to wondering if he is in the lake but can't find his body as this pays a tribute to the Friday the 13th legacy.
When they call the sheriff this idiot gets into people faces and acts arrogant and sarcastic with all of them in which this was supposed to be another comedic scene in which I forgot to laugh big time. Another lame moment in the story.
Many of you may ask me as to why I saved this film from bombing with all my negative comments on the scenes???
Well I will tell you why as some of the killings looked quite well done in which there's a nice setting with someone tied up and the killer injuring this vicitm in a worst painful way with a sledgehammer. Plus some good shots with this victim trying to get away in the deep dark woods as this looked mildly effective only to be done in a graphic way. Plus there's many other decent killings too.
Yet more lame moments with a counselor trying to make a move on a pretty girl nurse as their makeouts looked terribly forced as the writing on this scene was amateurish too.
Someone spots a hair curling iron which leaves a hint that the killer will use this object. Another nod to a scene from Sleepaway Camp.
However another killing is to set in place as one of the counselor's is running away out of the cabin into the night in a slow motion moment with the killer on her tail.
An effective nightshot with one of the girls going skinny dipping into the lake in which this leaves a chilling moment that she will be done in next. Keep watching though as it turns out to be a disappointment with how it was all performed.
Some of the final moments occur or so we may think with Tiffany in a dark kitchen as well as opening a pot and sees as to what's in it along with her trying to get away from the killer.
There's some mind games which makes you wonder if whoever is talkiong to Tiffany is the killer and putting her into a trap as this looked mildly clever to watch.
During what we think is the end to the killings thinking everyone did away with who's murdering these people the story tricks you big time as well as showing some flashback as to what happened beforehand including as to why no one minded the store from the start along with other stuff. However, this looked a little too long.
Bottom line is that the makers were trying to pay a tribute to the old school slasher flicks since this story took place in 1986 but it fall flat big time. It needed to be better cast and written as it lacked inspiration big time. Not funny nor is it scary like it was supposed to have been. Mainly due to a lack of a budget.

The acting is terrible but lead actress Kay Leahy (Tiffany Clark) seemed to do her job fairly decent as an innocent counselor offering a nice intelligent attitude and playing the virgin type in the flick. Reacts well to stuff as well as getting emotionally scared when the terror strikes her which she seemed to do this with decent style. I must admit that she was the best in the cast and a good choice for the leading lady role.
Chanda Rawlings
(Kimberly Star) who played her friend tried to add some spunk and enthisiasm by having a bubbly attitude along with showing a sense of humor. It worked a little bit but she doesn't act too natural in her discussions. However she's better than most of the cast in this flick.
Brendan Lynch (Donnie) seemed to stand out well as he was probably the best male actor in the flick. Shows a fair concentration when having discussions with others. Shows a nice outgoing attitude too. Offers some okay energy into whatever he was doing in his supporting role.
Bobby Langford (Bob Lahey) plays the camp owner in this one showing a grumpy atttiude which was half good and half lacking inspiration. He was quite wooden in his role and needed some acting lessons to make his role more convincing.
Felissa Rose (Michelle Crowell) is absolute over the top and mellodramatic as an arrogant camp director as she is unconvincing when showing her aggressions. She just doesn't have it and was making a fool out of herself. The reason why she was cast in Sleepaway Camp was for her looks as you all know she had very little lines in that one.
Michael McGlynn
(Roger Weisman) acted like a fruitcake as one of the directors and couldn't get into character like he was trying to. He was rather annoying within whatever he did. He tried hard to get into everything but couldn't cut it. He needs to find a different career that's for sure.
Matthew Sharpe (Zach Davis) is the most arrogant character but doesn't pull it off and was too over the top. In other words was not beliveable for what he did in this one. Needed some lessons as I can see he can do a better job if so. Had the right brawny masculine tough guy looks but that's about it.
David Sheridan (Sheriff Roman Wilmore) plays an arrogant lawman as he didn't cut it right. Yet was alot better than most of the other cast. Was a bit too much with his forceful behavior. Tried to be a natural ham in his role but fell flat. You could tell that he wasn't into what he did here since he's been better in other flicks.

Woman full breasted fornicating with someone else doggystyle in two separate scene's.
Guy's butt is revealed.
A woman's butt is revealed while going skinny dipping into a lake as well as her breasts fully shown.

Body is burned crisp.
Head is chopped off.
Bloody stabbings and slicings.
Person's cock is smashed by a sledgehammer and later on chopped in half.
Hair curling iron is fried in a guy's mouth.
Person's insides are torn out of his mouth while tied to a tree.
Head is found in a boiling pot.
Head is stabbed in a john.

Adam Robertson did a fairly good job with his music by having some synthesizer sounds by having the low classical type for when the terror strikes or where there's a corpse or killing etc. Plus there's peaceful types of music when we see the lake and the lush forest taking place. The odd screeching sounds occur when someone is slaughtered which sounded fairly crisp. The music has a fast action sound when the terrors strike as well which sounds so so.
