A woman gets slaughtered in a carnival on Coney Island, NY in which an attorney Dan (Martin Barolsky) investigates as he brings his girlfriend Laura (Judith Resnick) whom is a reporter to have some fun there. However, a few more murders take place as all of these people that are victims are somewhat dysfunctional. They risk their lives there as they both could be next.

The story was confusing and not making sense in which we spot a dysfunctional couple at a carnival as his girlfriend is getting annoying and nagging at her boyfriend constantly. This was getting on my nerves and got a feeling that she will be done in since this was a drawing card to that in a slasher flick.
They go to the Fortune Teller to tell them on what is happening as this girlfriend keeps up by acting over the top. The Fortune Teller tells them to leave in which things look bad for this couple by how it was set out.
Next up they go on a ride in a funhouse which looked twisted to watch with close up camera shots on what looks like corpses as well as laughing figures. This is a psych out moment but done in poor style. Then the people watching are even laughing which makes things confusing. Suddenly something happens which will please gorehounds. It was for sure shocking and doesn't explain as to how this happened.

When Laura is notified that there was a murder at the carnival and her attorney boyfriend Dan is going to research the area some decent energy between the two of them looked energised when she feels it's unsafe. Plus the owner at the carnival Tom calmly talks to her things seemed to work in nicely which os one of the only good moments in this golden turkey.

The carnival is still happening. I mean who would be stupid enough to keep it open after the slaughtering incident witnessed by customers there? What's even more twisted is that people are still going there. I would stay clear from a place where something horrible happened there.

Both Laura and Dan are at the carnival in which they have a nice discussion with Tom and his creepy sidekick Gimpy. The moments looked friendly and charming like as if they're all having a good time. Laura wins a teddy bear after Dan shoots darts and pops 3 balloons in order to win them. The settings here I must admit almost looked natural but like the cheesiness in the story and how this was shot it's hard to see it fully that way.

A drunken sailor and his prostitute are at the place to shoot darts for air balloons and this dude is all over the place just out of it shooting darts everywhere as I wondered if he will hit someone with this object. You kinda wonder if Tom will get into a rage especially when they make fun of the way Gimpy looks. Yet these moments look amateurish like the rest of the story.

Both Laura and Dan goes to the Fortune Teller to read them their fortune as the moment seem more settling. Everything is pleasant by what she reads to them along with some concentrated situations on her card reading but breaks the silence that she's finished as well as her telling them that they are in for something deadly. This leaves off a good suspenseful touch to the scene. THe Fortune Teller acts as if she's disturbed by something or in a trance when they question her and she gets anxious with them. None of this looked convincing or well done at all.

Of course the drunken sailor and his hooker is the Fortune Teller's next customer in which she doesn't do much for them and gives them bad news as well as telling them to leave. These two people were totally messed up as well as how they interact with her which looked discomforting.

Then this twisted two go under a pier for sex which was sloppily done by what they were talking about. What was unorganised was that the moment took place at night and it's daylight. However, how they were interacting leaves a clue that the killer will do them in next.

Tom takes Gimpy to his place to have a nice drink and shoot the shit. Gimpy tells him about how he had to kill his dog and so fourth. This was a drawing card wndering if he's the killer. He also discusses that people are mean to him cause he looks different too. With the outcomes of all this wasn't well done at all as it was supposed to seem dark within their conversations. It was just too amateurish.

When the killer is revealed it is too obvious as to who it really is and he has Laura pinned while they're on a ferris wheel. I had to admit that this looked mildly suspenseful and terrorising to watch wondering if she will be okay. Yet a flashback sequence happens as this looked stupidly done.

Bottom line is that it's one of those retro trashy typical grindhouse flick. In other words badly shot and edited. For one of those real bad drive in types of flicks which the killings are the only best parts for this story. This one was very obscure and I could see why. Was a double feature in it's day with Night of the Headless Horseman. The flick was nearly plotless and a total bore to watch. The filmmaker made a bigger success doing pornography. Avoid at all costs.

The acting is dated but much better than the story itself. Leading actress Judith Resnick (Laura) decently performed her role in this one as a reporter. Shows off a good aggressive energy and came off quite well within this. Also does a nice job reacting to stuff along with showing off a nice girl attitude. Seemed okay when trying to come off as someone else in order to save herself from being killed. Deserved fair credit for what she did here.

Martin Barolsky (Dan) who played the attorney was alright himself. Offered a good seriousness. He also does a nice job by having a caring attitude too. Has a fair likeable appeal to what he does here. Yet he needed a bit more energy into whatever he did here. But again the acting in this one was dated as mentioned.

Earle Edgerton (Tom) offers a good charming and generous like part. He for sure came across as someone whom is outgoing and charming with what he was talking about. Plus shows off a nice versatality with his harsh and aggressive behavior which he did just as well.

Burt Young (Gimpy) in his first gig before making it into better gigs. Seemed to try and pull his wieght as an eccentric oddball type. Yet when he tries to be mysteriously creepy he just doesn't cut it. I found he was a better actor later on in life.

Kaly Mills (The Fortune Teller) stood out noticeably in her supporting role with her accent as well as being a possible suspect. Yet she is sometimes a little over the top within her actions. Still came off well onto the camera regardless.

Is is chopped in two before the opening credits.
Another head is chopped off bloodily after a ride.
Person is stabbed with their guts torn out..
Eyeballs are ripped out.
Guts are revealed in a stuffed teddybear.
Person is bloodied after being hit by a car.

Not a whole lot of composing here in which there's chord strikings for when the suggested killings are about to take place. Nothing special at all. Near the end of the film with a flashback sequence some cheesy synthesizer music plays as well as some toned out piano playing. None of this sounded at all great.

Annoying twanging folk songs performed by Patrice Barnett as it got on my nerves as well. Plus the music sounded very off as this musician needed some lessons.
