James Bishop (Matt Stasi) is fresh from a college degree to becoming a doctor and works at the St. Andrews Mental Hospital in order to help mentally sick patients.
However he is introduced to the head of the ward Dr. McCort (Bruce Payne) as he seems somewhat eicked as well as the other people working there acting strange.
To top it all off, the patients mysteriously die as they warn James about a demonic force residing there.

The story features a prologue on a patient losing control and suddenly a demon takes his soul from his chest. The demon itself looks like a superhero in a low budget style costume. I had a feeling I might be in for a bad film. I was surprised though on how well the muysterious story went.
A graduate with a doctors degree whom is a clean cut young man James Bishop is on his way to a mental hospital. On his way he is about to get gas in which a near jumping moment is when a somewhat grumpy attendant catches him by surprise. He tells him he heard some scary stories about that place in which is a nice touch for a horror flick. To top it off the setting was late at night and things are very still. This scene was well shot.
When he enters is creepily greeted by who seems to be his boss in which he behaves itensely unpredictable. He really gets in his face as well as demanding him if he believes in the devil and so fourth. I was thinking this is an evil hospital but then this situation resolves itself while I kept watching the outcome. A well done moment that this scene had.
The head of the hospital Dr. McCort shows him around in which he sees the mental patients in which all of them looked a little dysfunctional on what they do and how they are treated. I know crazy people act over the top but you have to see for yourself in this scene. It was a nice drawing card to the story later on.
James spots a mental patient near a tub of water and then he spots he's not there. Suddenly he looks into the bloody water of this object and something creepy rises. This was done in a great twisted horror fashion.
He also sees a patient leaving the place and tells him he left his bible and this person tells him to keep it cause he's going to need it. This was another drawing card to the mysterious horror that plans to be unravelled.
James makes a call to his fiancee Lauren in which their discussions flowed well and things are calm and still. However a situation disturbs this moment and it made me jump out of my seat while watching this. A well done moment.
A real creepy discussion with Dr. McCort towards James in which there's an argument. McCort gives idle threats as well as being very cold towards him. Leaves off a good dysfunctional impression that he is not whom he seems to be along with what goes on in the hospital isn't a normal place.
Then the terror begins as a patient there Hadley shows James what goes on there in which there's a room which looks like a bunch of corpses. One of them rises his arms which was supposed to be a jumping moment but failed to do so.
Both of them sees on what goes on which looked mildly creepy and suspenseful which involves the demon from the prologue as well as these doctors dressed in a white uniform looking almost like a klu klux klan. The effects were a bit cheesy to watch but this still looked twisted as to what goes on. What's even more spooky is wondering if both James and Hadley will be caught spying on them. Certainly left a chill down my spine.
Lauren visits the hospital in which she is greeted by McCort. James enters the room as things get a little sticky when he takes her away from the room while McCort himself insists on taking his belongings but James refuses regardless. Made me wonder as to what will happen next.
When he tries to escape with Lauren the door won't open and is pitted against the hospital staff in which things looked perfectly intense. This really looked well done.
A nice camera setting circling around James being tied up to an operating room table along with McCort speaking wickedly towards him. The moments looked perfectly intense with what goes on here. A well done horror fashion here.
Suddenly the demon is about to arrive while Lauren is about to free him but screams when she sees this object as he told her not to look and to set him free but she is distracted. Stupid woman I was thinking to myself.
Right when you think that both are safe with Lauren taken away in an ambulance we spot as to who's driving it. This was well done and clever for what we think everythings good again in a horror flick but it teases you.
The very ending involves James which doesn't look pretty. It was well done and leaving a door open for a sequel. Sadly one never arose.
Bottom line is that it was made on a low budget but had a good and mysterious storyline. Not a happy film by any means but effective. The demon could've been more convincing as this object like mentioned didn't look scary and very low budget looking. For sure will leave people frightened about going to a hospital wondering if they are in the right place. Of couse bothing like this ever happens in reality. Very imaginative.

The acting is in very good shape with leading actor Matt Stasi (James Bishop) really rolling with the punches as a graduate on his first job as a doctor. Shows a good and convincing calmness to his part. He also does a nice job by stressing situations as well as acting nervous which looked well done. Shows alot of great intense energy as well as leaving some great aggressions too. At the end of his performance offers a great versatile attitude by acting insane and screaming out stuff intensely. He was a true force of nature.
Bruce Payne (Dr. McCort) lived to play an evil one who is the head of the hospital. Shows off a terrific mhysterious and emotionless personality. Was great with his cold speaking. He really knew on how to act intimidating and harsh too. A true horror character actor.
Julia Lee (Lauren) shows off a ton of spunk and outgoing attitude. Does well by acting happy and cheerful especially when having a phone conversation and so fourth. Knew on how to chage that emotion when she gets frightened or crying fearfully which comes off well too. Another great natural here.
Tom Lister Jr. (Smithy) was marvellous playing a blind employee Stands out well as at first intimidating but then offers a nice charming attitude with a big heart. Another one who rolls with the punches and was convincing that he was blind with his features. Studied this part incredibly well.
Tracy Scoggins (Helen) was truly mysterious in her role showing expressionless and emotionless persona. She for sure behaved like she was unpleasant to talk to and a great wickedness into what she did here.
Gregory Wagrowski (Hadley) is not too bad with his eccentric, hyped and crazed behavior. For sure comes across with under all that he's a good person and was a key supporting role to the story. Does a good job by trying to help the victims in the story escape. Shows all this off well onto the camera.

Lots of bloody scars on patients chests.

Steve Bauman and Cindy Valentine Leone do a convincing job by making each scene in the flick sound scary. Alot of deep sounds and scarpings as well as high pitched noises along with some piano playing. Plus real intense sounds which almost sounds like a screechy violin noise when a terrifying moment is unleashed. This moment really brought me the chills and blends in superbly.

James Bishop : If you hurt her I swear I'll kill you!!!!
