A witch named VIvian Sotherland (Melissa Sue Anderson) has satanic powers in which her boyfriend David Sterling (Patrick Cassidy) is failing in school. She uses her deadly powers on the teachers. Suddenly David takes interest in the new girl at their highschool Robin Prentiss (Mary McDonough) as this spells trouble for her.

A well focused beginning to this story in which there's good close up shots on a witch lighting black candles as well as petting her black cat doing a ceremony towards a teacher she doesn't like. While she does this a nicely done moment on this teacher dying in his car exploding which looked mildly suspenseful.
Alot of these moments looked truly mysterious as to who this person is as she wears a cloak with the hood hiding her face.
I was almost thinking that I was off to watching a great TV made horror film. Yet there were lacking moments later on in the story.

The tension happens the next day at school when announced that the school teacher died the night before as well as a troubled student David Sterling enters class and is frusterated about stuff as well as his ex-girlfriend
Vivian Sotherland trying to have control over him. It for sure draws in wondering as to who this girl is and if she's behind the evil that is happening towards others.

Then football practice takes place with some arguments going on and so fourth with David and the other teammates as well as Vivian having an evil stare with one of the other cheerleaders. During this moment causes the one she stares at causes her leg to give out during rehearsal.
Beforehand the story looked mysterious as to who this witch was but it suddenly becomes a spoiler shortly after which ruins a good storyline.

Situations are really drawn in when the new girl in school Robin Prentiss talks to David at a beach after school. It almost looked like a close to a romantic discussion but yet their lines looked a bit rough and not natural enough.
When he drives her home things don't seem pretty with her Dad towards him due to his reputation as this looked a bit tense to watch.

Robin also reveals David's book on black magic and witchcraft which drew my attention that he might have a deep dark secret. THis for sure looked effective for a mysterious type of horror flick.

Vivian starts off her other ceremonies in her room like during the beginning of the flick by using her powers on Robin by using her counter clock flying at her and moments like that which caused an intense argument with her and her father then it changed into some deep emotional conversations as this was powerfully done.

What's a real surprise is when Vivian's mother talks to her about her powers and so fourth in which it leaves an impressive moment for a witch to run in the family.
Their intense discussions looked impressive as well as wondering if Vivian will do harm to her own mother. It definitely shows off that Vivian is out of control with her powers. A nice moment in the story.

Along the way into the story in which Vivian gets her black cat to cause as to what a near accident happening in Robin's home which looked intense when David tries to rescue her.
Another situation with the two of them in a van and a crow is attacking which kept me watching carefully wondering if they will get into an accident. This moment for sure looked intense.

Robin and David go to the aid of another woman who knows about witchcraft and special powers by the name of Emily Moore. The discussions flowed nicely and peacefully with Robin being told that she has a gift.
This for sure left an impression as well as what we are to see as to what this girl can do. THis scene made the story grow more interesting.

Fun touches when Robin and David goes to a farm area and she practices her powers there. They show off alot of happiness towards one another as this looked fairly natural to watch.

The terror begins when they are back in school and Vivian causes trouble for Robin in which they test their powers on one another as this added some great feisty moments. Their vengeful aggressions were well performed.

David and Robin trespasses into Vivian's home in the evening when no one is home as I almost got the chills that they'd get caught.
The moments here looked powerful as well as a pentagram in VIvian's room lighting up which added decent special effects for a horror TV movie.
A funny attack scene of the black cat leaping on David's head even if this was supposed to be dark. I couldn't help but laugh during this moment.

Then Vivian challenges Robin to meet her on the athletic field from their school at night as this looked chilling and manipulative.
The setting looked perfect when Robin arrives at the school as wellas a mysterious shadow on a goat walking by as well as attacking her. THis looked fairly decent to watch.
Plus some nice wicked moments on Vivian as to what she has plans for her evil deeds.
They did save the best for last as you will see what I mean even if the story throughout this flick could've had a better push. It involves more witchcraft as well as a bonfire for these types of evil deeds.

Bottom line is that the film leaves off to a great start but sometimes it drags in which needed a bit of a kick in the butt. Still lots of fun touches throughout the story. It for sure focuses on highschool life as well as mysterious moments and surprises.

The acting is fairly decent for a TV movie in which former Little House on the Prairie TV child star Melissa Sue Anderson (Vivian Sotherland) stole the show with her performance in which she lived to play someone whom is evil and wicked. Also shows off a powerful force of nature whenever she speaks to someone. Offers good and cold expressions which shows off well on the camera along with her personality too. A true character actress proving she can still get work in other shows.

Mary McDonough
(Robin Prentiss) struts herself quite well as the new girl in school. Offering a good mellow attitude as well as showing off a nice innocence. Was good by acting soft spoken as well as cautious on stuff. Offers good concentrations when she practices her magic which also shines off. Plus was good by acting romantic too. Shows off good characteristics.

Patrick Cassidy (David Sterling
) in his debut performance (Yes he is the son of two legendary parents as well as the younger brother of the two heartthrobs from the 70's) in which he seems a little stiff and not getting into character as he should have been. Yet he had the right appeal as a football jock and the boy next door presence. Tried to show off energy when the suspense happens. He did a better job in future shows though.

Cathryn Damon (Diane Sotherland) shows off a good upsetting behavior as well as acting perfectly troubled within whatever she did. Plus she does well trying to put a stop to the madness that is happening as she offered some decent characteristics due to all of this.

Marion Ross (Emily Moore) shows off a perfect and believable loving personality in which she shows off a great and calm happiness when she is talking to someone else. This for sure shines off well and really knew her stuff here. Studied this role very well.

Walter Scharf is quite good with this piece as he shows some good suspenseful classical music with a flute playing as well as high pitched sounds. Odd icy sounds blends in pretty good for the near horror moments. Of course some nice high violin music adding more good touches to the story.
