Five friends decide to play a game in a mysterious forest that has a deadly long history on people that once went there and contemplating suicide. They realise that things are more deadly which is noted to be haunted and posessed by an evil force.

So the story starts with some upset teen talking on a video discussing as to what went on after spotting the found footage as it leaves off a nice mysterious start to the story although what was announced by this person seemed rather phony to watch. I made me wonder if the film will be a good one or not.
The story goes along with the teenagers entering the deep dark woods at night in which they goof around and do other stupid things like typical kids having fun.
They all walk along a log to avoid falling into a creek as they discuss dead bodies down there which was suggested that something creepy was down there. This was done in a fair fashion.
Some of them go to a train track and race back and fourth on it one at a time in which they hear a train coming as this made me watch carefully wondering if they will be safe since they're living on the edge while doing this.
Then all the friends get together to hear a ghost story hosted by Chris discussing as to what goes on in the forest they're at which looked well done and memorable to anyone who saw this flick other than myself.
Other situations are the kids are having fun by going swimming and other stuff like that. It seemed almost natural enough to what they are doing.
Then the mysterious moments start to occur when one of the friends Robin are blindfolded and are playing a game somewhat of hide and seek.
Things are still and silent with their dog barking at something which offers some chilling moments.
She brings her camera in order to find her friends hiding as she calls out to them but there's no answer. This can come across as fairly chilling. Yet, we all get a feeling that the horror will come later on since it's too soon for that.
Later on Ben is blindfolded to playing the game and some spooky situations started to occur which was one of my favourite moments in the flick.
He starts searching for them in the woods with his camera in which I might remind you looked a bit cheesy but still spooky. Suddenly we hear monster sounds but it sounds cheesily done like hearing in a retro cartoon.
Yet the shocking moments are about to happen which almost made me jump as well as later on what we see in the forest before his camera is shut off. Definitely can give you nightmares on what your biggest fears are in the great outdoors late at night.
Robin uses her camera to look for Nia in which leads her to a cave in which this looked nicely set and mysterious as well as what she sees inside this object which looked fairly creepy and so fourth. So even for a cheesy found footage horror I have to give these makers some credit that they made some situations enjoyable for horror fans..
After she finds Nia she is out of it near a tree as for some strange reason they both fall into a deep sleep. This for sure looked creepy and mysterious to watch this moment happening. It made me wonder as to think that the forest is controlling them both.
A couple of their friends Chris and Amelia spots them and when they don't wake up they get alarmed and tries to find help which looked intense. Good timing for a horror flick for sure.
In other adventures where Robin goes searching she spots a burial ground and moments like that as well as a distant shot on Ben which we thought was a goner. Leaves more mysterious formula.
She walks back on the log but is attacked by a serpent in which there's brief computerised CGI effects. This of course doesn't work for a found footage flick. She fals into the lake which looked suspenseful to watch with her camera going underwater with her. I wondered if it would short circuit as well as hoping she'd be okay. All this looked intense and powerfully done.
On shore she goes to look for something and then some glowing eyes in the dark which was a nice add into this scene.
Later on the camera is active again as it goes to what looks like an abandoned house (Sound familiar???). However there's filming on what looks like there's satanic symbols and stuff like that which delivers a true creepiness to a horror story. Yet we wonder whom is filming this. Is Robing still there or still alive??? It for sure makes you wonder.
In the situations we spot many of the characters alive or dead appearing at the home but not the people you'd think they are which leaves a level of weird and creepy moments along with some of them being emotionally scared or apologising and asking doe forgiveness in a room with pentagrams and stuff like that.
The settings for all of this in the home were done in a great horror fashion and can please fans who like spooky moments involving satanic situations. Alot of this would remind you on nightmares you'd have which was clever to watch the outcomes.
Bottom line is that this is a Blair Witch Project knock off as it's one of those so bad it's good flicks. Not a convincing type of found footage flick with cheesy special effects like mentioned above. However, I liked it as it had a nice creepy and mysterious story to it all.
Alot of the moments apart from it's cheesiness looked clever and a party type of found footage horror which was fun to watch. Many put this one down but like mentioned I liked it for what it was.

The acting seems to stand out okay in which our leading actress Shelby Young (Robin) had some nice spunk and pizzaz in her role as she showed it off nicely onto the camera on what she can do. Shows off some nice enthusiasm when having discussions or going on a search for others. She also showed off a nice emotional attitude when the terror hits. Brought this to life big time. Worthy character actress.
Chloe Bridges (Nia) seemed to offer a nice serious and mature attitude. Does well with acting out of it later on as well as acting mysterious and strange in other spots of her performance. Plus had the looks and appeal for this type of role. She was a fairly good choice.
Carter Jenkins (Chris) does well with his strong behavior trying to be brave about stuff as well as getting into his role powerfully well too. Offers a good scared emotional behavior in which he does well crying onset. Was one of the most remembered cast members when he springs into action in each scene of the flick.
Taylor Murphy (Amelia) breezed through okay in the film but mostly stood out quarter way in her performance. Does a great job having a panic attack in the woods when she finds some people unconcious. Then quarter way through does a fantastic job with her fearful sobbing which looked natural enough.
Mitch Hewer (Ben) was the first victim to the terrors but had a real effective supporting role. He offers a good outgoing type of attitude. Also does well telling a ghost story to others in which he was strong with his words while talking about it. Plus does a nice job being cautious while looking for the others while playing hide and seek making this look fairly natural on what he does here.

Butt shot is revealed when someone moons at the camera before jumping in a lake.

People are attacked and bloodied.

Not much of a score in music which is rare in a found footage flick. Yet during the closing credits some nice mild wind blowing and odd scratching sounds with some other brief spooky sounds.
