A child witnesses his parents murder by a killer in a Santa suit. Years later he has been escaping his abusive life but ends up wearing a Santa suit going on in a killing spree to anyone who's been naughty with the killers voice telling him in order to do so.

The beginning was a bit different than the one in the original as we spot young Billy Chapman with his parents at a retirement home in which he goes to visit his Grandpa in which things looked carefully focused when he interacts with him as this old man asks if he's been good all year etc. and tells him the bad kids get punished but not as creepy like in the original.
Suddenly his Grandpa is coughing and hacking when he urgently asks his grandson for some water in which this made me wonder if he will give it to him on time leaving a sinking feeling that something tragic is about to happen.
While the family are on their way home a mysterious driver is on their tail which leaves off a sinking feeling that it's someone unpleasant. However, it's not anywhere as disturbing like it was in the original.
Years later pass with Billy waking up from a nightmare in which it doesn't show him in an orphanage like in the original but is travelling as well as revealing his bloody Santa uniform and so fourth.
Alot of the moments watching the outcomes is pretty bland and corny stuff but some situations seems to look mildly entertaining when he meets that woman of his dreams while working at an antique store whom is Pamela Simms.
Billy's annoying inner voice tells him to kill who seems to be what looks like an elder man hitting on her or so Billy thinks that way which is bizarre.
This man is falling asleep in his chair with a nice close up shot on Billy's feet creeping up on him with an axe. While he raises it he says "Naughty". This made me watch in terror as if he will actually do this.
The best scene happens when Pamela takes Billy to her nephews little league hockey game in which this poor child is cornered by bullies hurting him. She comes to the rescue by beating them with their hockey sticks. It made me wonder if she is as crazy as Billy is himself in which this is a different twist to the story than in the original.
Nicely focused moments when Pamela is in a police station with the officer Max Bendict is questioning her on her assault with those kids in which she gets defensive. This looked well done as well as him letting her go along with a deep dark secret of his own that involved her. This was well put in even if the flick sucked.
Billy goes to a NAZI Christmas party as he does away the partygoers which slasher fans will love watching this along with good camera shots on all of this.
What's crazier is that the person he was supposed to kill uses a machine gun doing the rest away which looked fucked up big time. I could never understand as to why this partygoer did this.
A nice shot on Billy jumping into action to do away this vicitm while trying to escape in a snowmobile.
The older man that Billy killed is revealed later on while this man's wife returns home and spots him but yet when she screams in terror looked awfully phony and not meeting up to me expectations along with probably other viewers who saw this scene.
Billy takes Pamela on a drive to find missing children that were abducted in which he tells her his traumatic childhood as this was done in a good horror fashion admitting that he's a serial killer which was done in some decent horror taste.
The flashbacks happen in which one of them looked twisted as to how the killer that murdered his parents linked to young Billy as this adds a sci-fi element. This certainly looked cheesily different than in the original.
He talks about living in a foster home while growing up as this is a necessary change for a remake than being in an orphanage in the original. Not only that, the foster mother was demented and seemed to nearly murder the foster children with Billy seeking revenge which includes a deer antler impaling since that was a unique killing in the original. Yet ithe murder in this one wasn't focused enough as this was a disappointment.
They go to the place where the missing children are kidnapped in which there's a jumping moment which I won't spoil for you. Also we spot the kidnapper wearing a Santa mask whom is a killer himself which I'd think it's neat to see a remake with a different killer doing different things but at the same time it was nothing too special watching the outcome to all this.
The near ending is tragic involving Billy with Pamela at his aid but it looked a bit corny and cheesy with what happens here. Yet it offered a shocking horror violent scene.
Bottom line is that this story didn't mess with the original as that's what a remake should be in general. Old remakes in the past didn't try to resemble the original and was done right. This oen however didn't do anything for me and lacked inspiration and a proper story. SOrry folks but I am being honest here. Yet with this killer became somewhat a hero which is different than in the original as doesn't murder the woman of his dreams like in the first one. When I went to the theatre it only had about 1 or 2 audience members which isn't a surprise that it bombed at the box office.

The acting is a bit stiff in which Rohan Campbell (Billy Chapman) seems to force out his words as if he was choking while speaking. Sometimes it shows off well in certain spots. Does well with his dark words when saying "Naughty" plus he seems to do an okay job when lunging in for the kill. In a scene when he explains his childhood he does a great job while discussing this.
Ruby Modine (Pamela Sims) I would have to say is the best of the whole cast in which she does a nice job with her flirtatious and outgoing personality showing off some great spunk and energy. Also shows off a great aggressive and insane attitude in other spots when she doesn't like as to what is happening in front of her. Definitely a worthy character actress.
David Lawrence Brown (Dean Sims) was another fine actor in which he shows off a nice charming type of behavior as well as offering a nice humoress attitude to his discussions with others. He really knew on how to get into character and it shows off well onto the screen. Two thumbs up.
David Tomlinson (Max Benedict) was a mysterious type as the lawman and shines off well by behaving that way. Offers a nice emotionless attitude as well as coming off as a somwhat creepy type. He breezes in and out of certain scene's but yet he knew on how to make his role fairly memorable.
Mark Acheson (Charliet) was more of a voice over actor who appeared briefly on screen as the killer. I can't say that I enjoyed his performance in which he's annoying and over the top instead of being deadly with his words. He did have the deep voice but doesn't seem convincing at all. Sorry folks that's just my opinion.

Decapitations
Axe in he head
Slice and dice at a NAZI party
Bloody gunshots
Bloodied and skeletal corpses
Heel stabbed in a killers throat
Person is impaled on deer antler but the camera shots are hard to see it so it was briefly graphic
Nose is chewed off

Composers known as Blitz//Berlin did the score here as it is updated for slasher flicks such as this one but not as good as the original. Yet they do it with fair class. Some neat chiming sounds especially for the beginning of the story. Plus some heavy low sounds which works in well for the deadly moments. Alot of screeching and heacy banging sounds worked in well as it is traditionally used in todays standards. Plus some rusty violin composing seemed to add some okay moments too.
Some of the soundtrack was used by Morgan Ames from the original flick which I thought was cool including a song "Slayrider" as this was put into the NAZI killer scene. Definitely works in well within what is happening.
Or even "Santa's Watching" as it was played briefly in the opening as well in other spots.
