Sammie Moore (Miles Caton) wants to fullfill his dreams come as a blues guitarist so he travels with two twin brothers whom are trying to leave their troubled lives behind. They both go to their destination for a new start in which is of course their hometown as they enter a dance party only to be terrorised by vampires.

During the start off in the story Sammie Moore, one of the main characters of course, comes in all battered up at his father Jedidiah's cathedral as people look at him shocked which is supposed to draw in a mystery as to how he became this way.
Afterward's the story then takes place beforehand in which Sammie is about to go travelling with two identical twins Smoke and Stack to become an aspiring blues guitarist. Jedidah warns his son that he can be dancing with the devil as this was nicely put into the story and quite strongly done in since some oastors believe in that.
The story becomes a bit of a drag at first with them travelling and making stops at a town in which a Klu Klux Klan warns these people of trouble since his saw mill factory is bought from him with these people. This was one of the only cringing moments at first with what's going on along with Smoke shooting a couple of poeple and so fourth. Ho hum I was thinking to myself. Plus situations with them dropping by to talk to some women that Smoke and Stack that are bitter towards them and one of them has a brief and lame fornication moment but no skin.
When the gang goes to the sawmill for music and dancing things seemed to lift the dull moments big time.
The fun has just begun in which we spot an irish man Remmick runs away and goes to a home begging for help as we see his skin burning plus it still sunrise in which this left me a hint that he possibly could be a vampire. This looked intense and hyped up. The excitement has just begun making up from a dull beginning.
Spanish hunters goes to this residence demanding to see if Remmick hiding in their home in which they warn whem on what will happen after sunlight. This was a perfect touch to a vampire tale.
When it's sundown one of the people residing goes to look for the others and it is silent and dark as well as what is spotted here looked creepy along with a near jumping moment. This was well set out and terrifying.
Remmick and two other people are staring at the sawmill in which this looked creepy as we can see their eyes glow as well as asking if they can come into their party but is refused.
Mary goes out to talk to Remmick and his people in which they do an irish tune in which this looked well crafted along with him being tempting towards her. Things start to get a little creepy in which we see her trying to run back to the party. This looked terrifyingly suspenseful as I wondered if she will make it back or not.
While Sammie plays his guitar there's moments of people dressed as the present day as this offers good special effects and so fourth but it was rather confusing to watch all of this.
The terror and jumping moments kick in big time when Mary returns to the party as well as to what she does to somebodys else offering fast action moments along with some gunshooting too.
The bouncer Cornbread goes outside as things are still which is a good chilling moment and another jumping moment occurs that happens to this fellow. I won't give it away but it was a powerful force of nature.
The party ends earlier than planned and the main people get together to plan a war in which they know what vampires don't like which was cleverly written in to the story. Also it creeps you out wondering if one of these people are vampires themselves when one of them are heistant on eating a garlic object. I watched carefully wondering as to what will happen here. This scene will draw you in big time.
Remmick in the meantime performs with his irish band and the other vampire's dance in a circle to the music. This looked corny but in a campy fun way, It made me laugh. Plus good shots on all of this.
The battle rages on with fast action motions as well as good camera shots throughout all of this. For sure all of this looked terrific on what goes on here. Alot of tragic moments on certain people who didn't deserve to die and so fourth. A nice classic battle with Sammie at a river towards a vampire and highly energeised made me watch carefully piece by piece.
After the battle the KKK comes to do some nasty deeds in which Smoke hides out to plan on killing these bastards. This all looked powerfully vengeful. Made me want to watch for more with who shoots who here.
Bottom line is that someone told me that I had to see this flick and could see why. It was celverly well done and a great vampire flick. It for sure offers some jumps and fast action attacks with the creatures of the night. This should please the fans that enjoyed From Dusk TIll Dawn and Vampires. It is for sure worth checking out. Full of great surprises and twists.

The acting is
well performed in which Michael B. Jordan (Smoke / Stack) was great by playing two twin siblings as he made them seem like totally two different people. He offers alot of charm and wit throughout his performance. Plus does well by acting vicious when he shoots someone or getting sleazy for that matter. Comes across greatly by making you wonder if he is a good person or not. A great mysterious feel with all that he did here.
Miles Caton (Sammie Moore) offers some great spunk and inspiration with his role as an innocent young adult. He for sure does well with his nice and easy going attitude. Plus really got into playing the guitar and singing which he offers some great talent within this. Also shows some energy when trying to battle away the vampires.
Hailee Stanfield (Mary) was sharp in her supporting role. Shows off a great no bullshit attitude during her presence as well as believeable when she speaks her mind. Does well by acting nice as well. Was a full force of nature attacking someone. She stood out the most throughout the cast.
Jack O'Connell (Remmick) was marvellous as the head vampire and brought it to life big time. Was wonderful while freaking out by trying to look for shelter from the sun. Shows off a great versatality while acts cold and tempting. Really brought in the action big time when he performs his kusic or attacking his victims. Yes he does this all nicely.
Wunmi Mosaku (Annie) Definetely had great motivation for her role in this and was another strongly type for what she did here. Really got into her role greatly especially on having a plan as to have knowledge on vampires. She represented herself wonderfully.
Omar Miller (Cornbread) seemed to do okay in his supporting role as a serious type as well as showing good aggressions when he's irritated. Shows off a great deadly aggressions when he attacks someone.

Person's flesh is burning.
Bloodied bite marks.
Tearings of flesh.
Bloody stabbings.
Bloody gunshots.
Violent bloodshots.

Ludwig Göransson does a powerful job with his composing for this piece adding alot to each scene. Alot in the storyline there was good blues guitar sliding and twanging which works well for the countryside scene's and moments like that. Also some good metal sounds and booming noises too for the jumping scene's, The odd time some great chantings and powerful metal guitar riffs which is very different for a movie but works in marvellously. Plus some occasional powerful violin music too. Yes this person offered a good versatality to the flick.

Jedidiah: You keep dancing with the devil... one day he's gonna follow you home.
Mary: [to Stack] So you rob trains and banks but you can't steal this pussy for a night?
Remmick: [as Cornbread urinates] Is that Cornbread? Hey. Fellowship and love. Hey, Cornbread... peekaboo!
Mary: We gonna kill every last one of ya.
