An engaged woman Jenny Hill (Mary Stuart Masterson) is forced to marry a farmer she's not interested in whom is Miller Brown (Hart Bochner). He has has an annoying habit of going through a rather drastic change every full moon.

A black and white prologue occurs for the beginning of the film in an isolated countryland type of farm surrounding a child. This seemed to be nicely set out so we know later on what the whole scenario will be. For sure was nicely shot as well as having Miller Brown seen at the end of this scene. Looked very mysterious by how he presented himself which the filmmakers were fairly decent on this take.
When the story really starts to roll is when at an event in a big tent an opera performance starts to occur which was strongly well performed. We also see some of the audience getting emotinal while watching alot of this unravel. This was a real attention grabber.
The next day Jenny and her mother whom is credited as Mrs. Hill has a discussion on stuff which looked strongly done about her marrying Miller as she stresses she doesn't love him and so fourth. A good tense argument unfolds between the two of them. This looked powerfully done.
Then Jenny discusses stuff with Miller but is unhappy. Alot of this was well set out on a futuristic unhappy bride.
At night Jenny is outside of a saloon and a saloon girl talks slick to her which showed nice timing on all of this. Certainly drew me in as to what's going on.
Plus a good situation with the mysterious man that Jenny truly loves approaches her which is of course James Miller. Their interactions showed off true emotions off one another.
The next day Jenny weds Miller which shows a level of discomfort on her. Plus some strong emotional sobbing on a family member. This looked a little dysfunctional and strange to watch making me wonder if this relative doesn't approve on this.
Alot of dull moments occur at their new home as well as suggested sex that she doesn't approve of. As well as trying to be the typical housewife which was dull to watch as well. I was thinking to myself when is the horror going to kick in.
However it does reveal when Miller is boarding up the windows and other stuff as well as warning his wife not to let him in at night. This looked mildly effective by all that is happening here. I was like "YES!!!!".
Then when night hits Jenny is alone in the house as she sees the door banging as it adds some odd terror and suepense within all that happens here. Plus she looks out the window with a great shot on a full moon and Miller standing in from changing which I thought to myself that some horror fun was going to happen.
He runs around the yard acting wild as well as trying to get at her from a window but that's about it. No werewolf effects which is a disappointment.
The next day Jenny runs away with a shot on Miller lying there with no clothes on as well as being scarred as this looked impressive for an after event while changing during a full moon.
Then it's the same boring non horror moments again with situations like James getting it on lustful with a barfly. As well as people partying there. Plus situations with some people beating the crap out of James and so fourth. Some of these moments looked powerful but pointless.
During quarter way into the story James pays a visit to Jenny in which they have a decent and strong romance with one another. These situations were well focused but it still bored me wonder if any other horror or other exciting events were about to unravel.
When night falls there's a storm unravelling which adds some mild suspense to this scene with Miller calling out offering an echoey sound. This was a fair cheesy horror touch so far. Then he acts crazy running around.
Suddenly a mild struggling scene between both James and Miller starts to occur. No werewolf effects or anything and not really anything terrorising. This was a disappointment big time.
Bottom line is that this film is barely a horror flick and more of a western romance. However it just falls into the category of horror. Yet many fans will be disappointed. Although it hints as a werewolf flick there's no effects for it or anything like that. The story was incredibly slow. At first it looks mildly entertaining with the dialogues and such but it slopes. Better off finding something else if you want to be truly scared or see tragic moments as this one isn't it. I wondered if I should've reviewed this one at all.

The acting is well performed and better than the story itself:
Mary Stuart Masterson (Jenny Hill) had the nice girl wholesome look. Also does well with her timid but calm atttiude. She drew in well within each scene. Also does well acting a little alert during the scene's that were necessary for her to react like this. She was a convincing character actress.
Hart Bochner (Miller Brown) seemed to come across in an okay fashion as someone whom is emotionless and mysterious. Offers a nice seriousness to his part. Also seemed to pick up the pace when he acts wild at night and so fourth. He wasn't award winning material though. Still he did the job in a mediocre fashion.
Fionnula Flanagan (Mrs. Hill) shows a ton of energy and charisma in her part as someone whom is a bit demanding and aggressive in some spots. Emotional and very characteristic in other spots. She was probably the best in the cast. Had the perfect motive for doing everything that she could.
Stephen Blake (James Miller) played another fine mysterious character and stood out strongly with his big guy feature. He for sure does well as the silent type. Plus seems to draw you in whenever he drew his characteristics. Also had some good energy as well as doing well by acting caring and romantic.

A whore is fully barebreasted while being fornicated.
Guys butt is revealed the next morning after being a werewolf.

Gerald Gouriet does a strong composing for the film with powerful trombone playing along with the odd harmonica playing especially during the beginning of this flick. Shows a perfect sound of the isolated countryside. Also some good synthesizer music in some of the adventureous situations. The odd windy sounds seemed to flow well along with some vocalising music for the night time situations. All brought together in a fair fashion.
