A college student Ed (Matt Mitler) is asked by his father Big Ed (Jack Chatham) to close his fishing house in an island since it is off season.
So he brings his college buddies for a fun time there. Meanwhile, his father is slaying his friends one by one until he gets a hold of his son after killing his wife accidentally as a child on his birthday.

The beginning looks peaceful as a mother is making a cake for her husbands birthday. Of course we get a feeling that something disturbing and tragic will occur afterwards and boy it sure does when her son Ed takes out a rifle and accidentally shoots her. However, after this incident things looked terribly phony when he goes to see as to what he did. I had a feeling that I was in for a bad horror flick.

It's present day as Ed Jr. is full grown in which he spends time with his college buddies at a bar having a good time. This looked fair to watch in which we all of course know that they'll be in for a terror afterwards.
Ed and his friends travel to his father's beachfront to close it up for the winter. The shots and locations within all of them travelling seemed to work in well.

When they arrive they notice a picture of someone whom almost looked slaughtered. Ed tells them an accident happened. Plus spot a giant fish bait hook.
This is a fair drawn in card to the slaughterings we are about to see later on.
While this ia all happening Big Ed is in his basement spying on them as well as having dreams on killing his son as a child after what he did to his wife. This doesn't look pretty at all.

A couple Linda and Mike decides to go for a stroll at night by the ocean. This is a perfect drawing card for Big Ed to do them both in since they're by themselves. A nice impression here even if their discussions don't blend in well and a little forced.
They spot a swimming pool so what else do they do??? Yes they go skinny dipping. Another drawing card for this killer to do them in first. They dunk down in the water and rise up which drew me in wondering if one of them will ever rise up at all. Yet these moments took a little long to watch.
However a well concentrated shot on Linda lying in the water which left a chill down my spine that it's time for her to be done in.

A cop looks around the area of the beachfront with concentrated camera takes and moments. Definitely a good creepy situation that he will be next. Boy does the slashings look graphic here which will please gorehounds big time.

While Big Ed kills these people he impales them all in his basement. This didn't look pretty at all. If you don't look gruesome situations trust me, this isn't for you at all. Yet a memorable moment to anyone who saw this flick nevertheless.

Big Ed wanders around the house while others are hiding and thinking it's his sone to play a fun game on him. While I wondered if they will get slayed it doesn't look as creepy like it was intended to be. I'm sorry but this moment looked rather amateurish but I've seen worse in other horror flicks.

A lame slapstick moment with the goofball Ralph going outside to find out where Linda and Mike are and his girlfriend Sue says she will surprise him when he comes back. There's fast action moments when he runs out of the room so he won't take too long. I totally forgot to laugh when this happened. An unnecessary scene.
When he's outside some careful shots on him trying to call for them which I do admit that this is eerie making me think that Big Ed will come into action. However, nothing happens. Yet he goes into the shack calling out to them. This of course is not a wise decision to make. His luck just ran out big time.

The last survivors are worried that something's wrong since no one has come back and decide to leave. This was a well written in moment to make things scary to watch wondering if they will make it out.
However, one of them suggests that they look around the place just one more time. Everyone agrees. Of course, in a slasher or splatter flick is not a wise idea to do so.
One of them gets the most painful moment before actually being done in as you guessed it the giant bait hook. This doesn't look pretty to watch. Yet this vicitms reaction wasn't intense enough sadly.
Yet a struggling moment between Ed and his father Big Ed which was fair to watch but not as powerful like you'd think. Still some violent moments here.
Also, when they think he is dead we all know that would be too easy. Plus his car won't start which is another suspenseful situation wondering if they will manage to escape.

Bottom line is it's a stupid splatter flick yet is a cult favourite to some. I saved this from bombing due to the dark slayings which looked fairly shocking and decent. Not a great story by any means but I've seen worst. I would skip this one as it's phony and sick to watch. Originally titled Fall Break. This title was more catchy so it was wise for them to change it.

The acting is very wooden and full of virtual unknowns in which our leading actor Matt Mitler (Ed Jr.) seemed to stand out well onto the camera. Yet was stiff within his characteristics and seemed to just say his lines. Yet, he shows some good intense energy quarter way through his performance when the terror strikes him so he wasn't all that bad.

Ruth Martinez (Pam) showed a bit of energy and reacted to stuff well. She also came across as someone intelligent and one of those heroines in a flick like this. Yet her looks didn't fit the part as she wasn't as attractive enough. She tried her best to pull her weight though.

Connie Rogers (Sue) was the best in the cast. She had the good girl looks as well as adding alot of spunk with a convincingly outgoing attitude. Shows some nice humoress actions along with her mild sarcasm. Was a true character actress. Yet, at the end of her performance doesn't seem to react well to being in pain.

Bill Hitchcock (Ralph) however was very stiff as a goofball in which he wasn't funny by how he said his lines. Tries to show energy and being charming but not enough characteristics by how he did all of this. Really low on energy during the end of his performance due to reacting to the terror that strikes him.

Morey Lampley (Mike) was the worst in the cast as they tried to have hinm portray the hunky one. His looks were almost there but not quite. Was a total line reader especially with his flirtatious attitude which didn't shine off well at all.

Frances Sherman shows off her breasts when she is skinnydipping in a pool.

In a dream sequence a child is bloodily shot as well as his throat cut open by a battle axe.
A picture is revealed with someone whom is cut up.
Someone is cut open with a boat motor and a violent bloodshed.
A cop's head is sliced off as well as other body parts.
Another victim is impaled by a flounder gig.
A large fishing bait hook is stabbed right through someone.
The killer is cut in half after a car rams into him against a concrete wall.

Michael Minard composes this piece in which he shows some peaceful piano playing and other sounds during the romantic moments. Yet it sounds a bit toned out. Also has cheesy low synthesizer sounds for when the killer is spying as he seemed to ripoff the theme from Jaws a bit. It stuck out in my mind though. also some screechy annoying sound effects that got on my nerves a bit. Yet at times when the slayings happened seemed to work in well.

Ed Jr.: That's strange. My dad's battleaxe is missing.
